Natural Birth

Intro and question

Hello! I wanted to introduce myself as I have decided to stop lurking and participate!

After several months of trying, my husband and I found out we were pregnant 3 days before Christmas Eve. We had a very fun time telling our closest family on Christmas that we are expecting. I have a wonderful husband and a great support group with both my family and my in-laws. I knew before we got pregnant that I wanted a med-free birth and everyone around me is very supportive and encouraging.

I have a wonderful Midwife who will do my delivery in a hospital (we live in a rural state with no birth centers, but the hospital has a very good maternity ward that supports natural birth). This is my first baby (and pregnancy) and I am very excited about this new life. I have decided to do the Hypnobabies Homestudy (we don't have courses offered around us, again, very rural), and I look forward to ordering my course.

GTKY question: What's your favorite book? Im currently reading The Night Circus, and it is quickly approaching my top 5 books.

Hey there and welcome! I'm a bit of an odd one in that I like to read books about psychology and whatnot, so my favorite book would probably be "The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat" by Oliver Sacks. But I'm also a huge fan of Joan Didion. :)
3 early losses in 2013, but so thankful that our first baby boy is due 3/29/14! <3

  • I also love Gone With the Wind, but my husband may have overdone Prissy's "don't know nothin' bout birthing babies" while I was pregnant.
