I'm gonna disagree a bit. While I do love this name, I think that it is becoming more popular right now and depending on your definition of trendy, you could say trendy too. But if you love it, don't let that stop you.
Trendy is a name that is going to come and go. 50 years ago there were no baby girl McKenzies or Addisons, and it is doubtful in 50 years there will be any baby girl McKenzies or Addisons.
Violet is certainly rising in popularity. I think I currently know at least 8 under 5. However, the name itself is classic. 50 years ago the name was being used, and 50 years from now it will probably still be being used.
We are going to name our little girl Violet, so I am hoping it doesn't become too trendy. And, obviously I love it! I have done a fair amount of research online and I have come across posts dating back years where people claim it is going to be the next big trend, but so far not so much. It is definitely coming up in popularity, but I am OK with that. I like classic but known names.
I don't think Violet will EVER be trendy. Just because a name is popular, doesn't mean it's trendy- the two are completely different. So classic to me. It's not popular where I'm from, either, I don't know a single one.
