How the flick do you do this?? No, really? My baby barfies just seriously kicked in...been dry heaving/barfing all day! I work three days a week, but suddenly those two days a week with DS seem totally impossible. Magic tricks? Help??

**Update** Well DH had what we thought was food poisoning on Sunday, but I decided that was in fact a bug, and what I had yesterday.  I'm relieved it's not just how my MS will be this whole time, it was literally debilitating... feeling a little better this morning.

  • First of all, get the Zofran. It was my lifesaver. I'm not ashamed to say we've been through our stash of Disney movies several times this pregnancy. I'm also a fan of interactive kid's iPad apps and abcmouse.com. They've been good on days I couldn't do/handle much at all.

Tv literally saved my life. Also, my kids liked to read books, so we did that too. Hang in there! Hopefully, it will get better soon. Is there anybody that could take him for the afternoon so you could get a little break?
Little story to brighten your day: everytime I threw up when DD and DS were around they liked to pretend to throw up with me and sometimes they would rub my back and tell me it'd be ok.

ETA: I'm mobile so can't see if it says in your ticker how old he is but there's also coloring, play dough, and blocks.

Also, have you tried eating more protein? That's what my midwife suggested I do and it worked to an extent. Also fresh squeezed lemon in my water and preggy pop drops helped too. You can get those from amazon.

  • Pinterest and a lot of crafting... I lost my job in September, and although I am happy to spend more time with my son...some days he drives me nuts. I try to take him out for 1 hour every day so he doesn't get crazy indoors (is -10c to -20c here). I take him a couple of days to the Early Years Centre (like a free daycare but you need to stay with him) so he can play with other children (which never happened because he totally ignores them). I play, we watch movies, videos in Youtube so I can relax sometimes. Today we made a pizza together. I just try get him involved in everything I do so he doesn't kill himself while I do it.... sigh..

  • My son is 3, so I could just tell him mama felt terrible and we were going to lie in bed all day. He loved it! Ha. He also saw me throw up a LOT and would ask eagerly if he could flush the toilet. Oh, kids. He did really well with it and was eager to help me when I was feeling crappy. But it wasn't easy! I was sooooo much sicker this time.

The hardest part is that I work for myself, so I can phone it in for parenting, but phoning it in for clients is way less easy to do! :-/

  • ::lurking:: While pregnant with DS2, DS1 and I spent lots of time watching tv and movies while mommy dozed on the couch.  I tend to have MS for about 20 weeks, so there was no getting around it.  He learned that mommy was sick a lot, and would come and sit with me in the bathroom and rub my back while I threw up.  Is there anyone who can help watch him?  My mom would try to help here and there, just to give me a little break.  ((hugs)) It is not easy!
