NBR we were almost in a car accident

I drive a truck that has running boards. I was driving down the mass pike when all of a sudden I heard clunk clunk clunk. I was going 75 and thought my tire was flat because we had just gone over a huge bump. I had a terrible time trying to pull over then when we did I discovered it was my running board. I gorilla taped it in place so I could get to the dealer. My sister was with me and cut her finger. Then we were almost hit by a huge semi who wasn't paying attention.

This all would have never happened if DH had first done what he said he would do and tightened the screws 5 weeks before when I asked.

Or told me he had never done it.

I am so mad at him and he didn't even say he was sorry. This is not the first time he forgot or didn't care enough to do something important.

Well, if you bring it up, he's going to consider it nagging. You're not going to make him suddenly care about it when he's already demonstrated that he has no remorse for causing your damaged vehicle, your shitty day, and your sister's mauled hand. Clearly you must enact revenge. What drives him nuts? When you watch a marathon of Housewives? When you "forget" to wash his favorite pjs? When you "accidentally" slosh water on the floor in the bathroom that he happens to walk through while wearing his socks? You must do it. It's really the only way to stop stewing and get your satisfaction back.

This exactly! After being with my husband for 15 years, I have found that this is the only way. I don't argue with him about "forgetting" he said he'd do something. Not worth my time. However, sometimes I "forget" to put his undies in the washer. Or I "forget" to put the recycling in the recycling bin. I just put it in the regular trash can. I have NO IDEA why this makes him crazy, but it does. I use it to my advantage. You can do it! Granted, your issue could have been much more serious. He needs to realize that, as well. But, after you make your point (I find that screaming gets less of a response than crying. DH has no clue what to do to make me stop crying!) it's time to get even! What fun is marriage if you can't drive each other a little crazy?

@luvboston, I'm so glad you "Loveit" my comment. After I posted I realized you might think I was making light of the dangerous situation you were in. That wasn't my intention. I'm so glad you're okay. I just wanted to make you smile instead of fume, because I have SO been in your shoes.

@beachy6, aren't we terrible? Or are we just crafty?

You never have to worry with me it so sad when you come home from work and all your clothes are now pink:)
Or if the cc bill is high cause I decided I deserved a spa day:)
