How Old?

There was a report last night on the news about how now women are waiting until they are older to have their first child (26 being the average age of a FTM in 2012 as opposed to 21 in 1970.

So, just because I'm curious, how old were you when you became a mom?

I was 25 when I had him and am 26 now. It was the perfect age for us. We make good money, have solid savings, finished grad school, and own(mortgage) our home. Those were checks in the box that we ideally wanted before TTC.

I was 26 when I had my daughter, 28 now with my son. My mom was 24/29 when she had my brother and I- MIL was 24/27 when she had my h and SIL.

I was 24 when I got pregnant and turned 25 in July. She was an oops baby (I love her and so glad she is here but wasn't planned) I would have probably waited until I was 30 to be honest. But she really got a lot of things in my life moving - everything happens for a reason!

Turned 31 a little over a month before she was born (my first). We got started later than I would've liked but I'm thankful for what we've got. Would ideally like 2 more but we'll see.

23 here. Our initial plan was to wait until I finished my degree to start trying which means I would probably be 25 when I had baby. But we got to talking about it and I knew that I would start my job and keep coming up with reasons to wait. I don't think our timing couldn't have been any better!

I was 16. I guess I'm the Teen Mom of the October board.

Obviously not the best choice I made as a teen, but my son is honestly the best thing to ever happen to me. I was not one of those train wreck chicks you see on t.v. either. I finished high school on time and in the top 15%. I finished my B.A. in 3 years and finished law school a semester early. I'm super involved with my kids as well.

Pretty much I wouldn't have made it to Teen Mom because I'm too boring! ha.

I was 32. I had multiple people at work and such tell me I was so smart to have kids in my 20's, they just could not understand why people waited so long to have kids. I loved responding with a big smile and saying, "Thank you, I am 32."

27 here. I always wanted kids younger but I was never in a relationship with anyone I could see raising a family with. I was an oops baby, my mom had me at 18. Everyone in my family had their first by age 22.
