38 Weeks & 2 cm dilated

My first pregnancy was 10 days late, I never dilated on my own and was induced. Today I had my appt and was told I'm 2 cm dilated. My Dr. also told me he's out of town this Thurs-Sun, so now I'm stressed I'm going to have this baby and will end up with another Dr. Did anyone stay at 2 cm for a while before going into labor?

I would go by the 1cm per day rule...which puts you in L&D on Friday.

This seems like a great question for your doctor. "Oh? I'm 2cm already? What does this mean in terms of my delivery? Will I go earlier now?"

Nothing anyone here tells you will have any bearing whatsoever on your situation. 0cm, 2cm, 6cm, you will give birth sometime in the next two to four weeks.
