Father's Day Gifts

Hey ladies,

I'm new to the board. Baby Girl (our first) is due June 16th (the day after Father's Day) and I am in serious plan ahead mode - but that's me all the time. Anyway, I was trying to think of cute ideas for a Father's Day gift for my DH, since it's kinda 50/50 if she'll be here by then or not. So far I thought of getting a cute "I

my Daddy" outfit to use as her take home outfit (I'd either give it to him on Father's day if she's not born or give him pictures if she's already here).

Any other ideas? DIY is great, I'm just hoping to get a lot of my crafting stuff done while I can still fit at my sewing machine

I wish I could give him what I'm most likely going to get for Mother's Day...kicks to the bladder and diaphragm, but oh well. He'll most likely just get a sleepless night.

DH's birthday is less than a week after father's day so I was going to give him this as a combo gift. But is really is more of a gift for me too since I want it for our mantle to balance out the mother/little boy one my mom got with with DS but I will totally pretend it is all about him

Seriously though, @babywearI love how you use the word "bub"

It reminds me of my Welsh grandmother who uses all the cute British slang for baby stuff like "nappy" and "pram". I secretly want to raise my child with a southern accent (which neither myself or DH has) and have him call me "Mama". My northeastern accent is so boring.

My DH has been mentioning wanting a new camo backpack. So I'm thinking I might get him the backpack but treat it as his man diaper bag and stock it up with baby supplies and some gag gifts (gloves, tongs, mask etc for changing dirty diapers). I figure this way he gets the bag he wants but will also recognize that he can use it as a diaper bag as well if needed.

Thanks to RCS, DH will possibly be spending Father's Day in the hospital with me and Baby boy #3 ! If I go earlier than that, then I will probably buy him a Jack Daniels Gift Basket, and crochet him a matching beanie to the one I made for LO #3 lol. Though, since DH has a beard, I won't make a crocheted beard attached to the hat lol

My EDD is June 12 or June 13. They changed it to the 13 but I'm still holding out for the 12th. Either way, we may or may not be in the hospital by that point. I have thought seriously about what I'm going to get him. Especially, since his own father is no longer with us to be with him to celebrate his first Father's Day, I will probably try to go all out in some way. I haven't quite figured out what, but I know booze of some kind will be part of it. As well as something he could use for work.

Last year i made DH a shadow box with a couple pics of him and ds, plus one of DS's nb size outfits that said daddy's all star. I added a few more little things to decorate that I got from Hobby Lobby. It came out really good and DH loved it.

No idea. I'll most likely have a c section the week before and his birthday is 4 days after. I'll probably give him an IOU and have DS paint him a picture.

For DS I framed several pictures of DH holding him and them interacting. I'm not sure what I will do this year; it depends on when she arrives. Maybe something with her handprints or footprints.

I will probably do some type of sentimental picture/ mug or something but I've also been planning on getting him a baby outfit that supports University of Michigan. He is a huge Michigan fan and we are team green so I can't buy it until baby comes which is just before Fathers Day. I think any sports clothing supporting dads favorites for the newborn is a cute gift for dad.

A onsie is pretty gender nuetral. We bought UW onesies before we found out our baby's sex

I honestly haven't given it much thought, yet. My stepson does his own thing for Father's Day for DH (his mom usually helps) in the past and so I have just given him a card or made a nice dinner for him.

LO won't be arriving until a couple weeks after Father's Day so I might go the sports team route and get a Phillies jersey or ballgirl outfit (depending on what we're having, obviously) in NB size.

He's getting a daughter for Father's Day. LOL. I dunno though, we aren't really big on gifts and I highly doubt I'll be up for doing anything special like cooking for him since LO is due right before, but I might get him a cute "Dad" coffee mug or something. That's definitely something he'll be needing once she gets here ;-p
