Okay ladies I need some opinions here. I see a maternal fetal medicine for my growth scans... At 32 weeks my baby was measuring about 10% tile. 34 weeks she went under 10% and her abdominal circumference was measuring at 5%. She's been under 10% for the past 6 weeks but gaining an average of 8-10 ounces every two weeks. This past week at my appt MFM sent over a fax stating to induce at week at 37. When I got to my OB appt later that day, my OB said they are going to hold off until 39 weeks! Why am I getting two different sides here..I'm so confused ...lost I don't know what to do. Can I just go with MFM and have them induce me or does my OB have 100% say in this. I feel like MFM has more experience since they are doctors for high risk. Any mothers out there with similar stories?!
Re: Inducing...help!:(
I don't know your background or history... but they started inducing me at 37w 4d for hypertension. When the dr saw the placenta and her size, she was glad that they induced because she felt that the baby would gain better from breastmilk at that point than what the placenta was able to provide for her.
As for MFM vs. OB, I don't know who would have the final say.
I would definitely bring it up with MFM again. They may not be happy that your OB wants to wait... or they may call consult with them in a more direct manner.
I would talk to both of them and have them work it out

I'm not new. I just hate The Bump.
I agree with PP questions: what monitoring will be done? I'm sure they will want to make sure the placenta is providing enough nutrition to the baby. I think your OB makes the final call, but are they not communicating to one another? Usually OBs work with MFMs they like or work regularly with.
I hope it all goes well for you. 37 weeks is still preterm and can land a baby in the NICU. Those are some tough pro/con factors to weigh.
