So I completely failed on the labor buddy plan, despite having an awesome one - sorry pepperedmoth! Anyhow, the short story is that I got to 5 cm after 20 hours of cervical ripening and 3 hours on pitocin. Baby girl started having severe distress at 7 am Sat, they called for an emergency CS at 707 and she was born at 715. It went scary fast, but those were the longest 15 min of my life! I'm ok with having had a CS, but am a bit disappointed that it was a classical cut due to the emergency which means no chance of VBAC or full term pregnancies in the future. My disappointment fades pretty quickly when I look at my girl though. :) She's pretty amazing so far - yesterday she had TEN poo diapers which blew me away, and today has been all about cluster feeding with a combined 8 hours on the boob.
