Had my epidural. I was not prepared at all for the intensity of the pain. But I feel okay now and am ready to do this. I'll update later.
@vanessabee sorry, labor buddy, things started very fast. I'll post a birth story later.
UPDATE: last night DH and I decided to try some sexy time to get things moving along. I was 39w2d and early labor stalled out for a few days. About an hour after I had mild contractions that were about 10-15 min apart so I bounced on the yoga ball and walked around the house a bit. Then I took a long bath and got out about 2:30am and went to bed but never fell asleep. My contractions were a little irregular and very mild and about 5-10 minutes apart.
At 3:15 I felt a couple strong pops and horrible contractions immediately started about 1-2 minutes apart. I woke up DH and he got things ready to go. When I stood up I felt some water leave me. We got to L&D at 3:30. My waters continued to leak and I was dilated to 7cm. By the time I got the epidural at about 4:30 I was at 10 but the baby wasn't in position so they had me wait until 7am to start pushing with the nurse while we waited for the doctor.
At 8:15 my doctor called and said she had another patient go into labor after me but this one was a natural birth so she was giving it priority and going to a different hospital. She wanted them to re-dose my epidural and have me wait until she was done.
As soon as the nurse told me this I told her I can't wait because she was coming right NOW. So the doctor turned around and came here. I pushed for another half hour and at 8:45 Piper Rose was born. She is a big, beautiful, healthy girl. I couldn't be more in love.
