Seriously??

Ok, I came on here to vent ages ago about a friend of my grandmother who made comments about my weight like 7 months after I had Kellen (anyone remember that far back?? LOL) She commented (in front of my coworkers!) that I had "gained some weight" and needed to work out (this was after I had lost all but 5 lbs of my pregnancy weight). Mind you, she's like 80 and definitely overweight herself.

Anyway, she just came into the office again and, as I was walking away to get her check, she commented (again, in front of coworkers) that I was "finally" slimming down. A coworker stood up for me and said I've always looked great, yadda, yadda, yadda and she responded "no, she was heavy for a while there. I am glad she has slimmed down. I think she needs to be slim and I like her better that way." Let me add that I've only lost maybe 5 pounds since she last saw me, so I don't really even know what she's talking about by saying I've slimmed down.

But can you believe that? I know she's old, but holy rudeness!

Has anyone else had any "WTF, people?" moments today???

Re: Seriously??

  • Ummm didn't you post some vacation pics and you were in a bikini a while back? Your grandma can hush her mouth!

If I did, I was probably hiding behind someone or wearing a towel...haha. I did wear a bikini on my vaca and all last summer, but I don't think I posted myself in all my glory on FB. LOL. I'm not that confident!

  • And most of my vajiggle jaggle is in my butt and thighs anyway. No hiding that in a swim suit!

  • I did gain close to 45 pounds while pregnant, and then like 5 more in the first week pp (who does that?!?) But I thought it was common knowledge to NEVER comment on a woman's weight after baby unless it is a compliment. Yes, she totally knew I just had a baby. I even told her right after her initial comments  that "I DID just have a baby and I HAVE lost 40 pounds in 6 months, but whatever!" And she said she wouldn't believe me. Haha.

And I haven't lost weight in ages. I mean, its always nice to hear you look slim, but she somehow even turned that into some kind of twisted insult! LOL.

And thanks ladies, I didn't write this to complain about my weight or anything (or try and fish for compliments), but I am still just in shock that someone could lack that much tact! Ya'll always make a girl feel better :)

  • The part "needs to be slim" bothers me. Why does she think you "NEED" to be slim? Smh. Her comments were tasteless and inappropriate. I am sorry that happened.

  • Honestly I wouldve come back with some snarky reply butttt ya know haha. You look fabulous so no worries about what she thinks :)

My wtf: my husband was super romantic this morning.  I went in to give him a kiss goodbye before taking Austin to daycare and heading to work, he was in the bathroom.  He texts me " dropping the browns off at the superbowl, love you!"

realllyyy smooth hunny lol (it has been cracking me up all day though & @lewispm I though you might like that since its a more "tb friendly" version of your expression from a few weeks ago)

Careful with that talk around these here parts, Monk! ;) That is too funny though. So romantic :)

  • @trixe282 That's where I get mad too! Why do I give a flying flip how SHE likes me? She is no one to me! LOL. The weirdest thing is that her entire family struggles with weight. And I'm talking like really bad struggles. Bad enough for her daughter to be on disability (for weight issues alone. Nothing else). So I don't know where she thinks she has the right to make comments about anyone's weight! And you would think she would be more sensitive to it, but I guess not. It really made me mad. She cleans for us at the office every week and I write her check, so I'm probably not the first person she wants to piss off. I might just "forget" that check next week!
