  • Every time LO squawks I think he's hungry. DH keeps making fun of me.

I will cry today later either because DH won't quit making fun of me, or out of fear of having a mordibly obese baby because I always think he needs food.

@katybriggs this is my second and I still shove a boob in her face if she squeaks for longer than 2 minutes. Couldn't figure out why my sleep was so crappy the other night until I looks at the clock and realized she had eaten just 30 minutes earlier and really only needed a new diaper...oops?

Mine? DH is off until the 22nd, I've totally been taking advantage of him cleaning the house. Baby came a little earlier than I expected and in the middle of my shifts so I didn't get to "finish" my nesting. I'll gladly take this time to snuggle my girls while his boredom keeps the house clean :)

  • I don't use those wipes anymore before leaving a urine sample. Once they had wipes out that had alcohol and it burned my lady bits to hell and back. Not sure if it affects the sample, but after that hell idc!! I also got sent to L&D today after my weekly check up. FH is still behind and I didn't grow at all since last week. Doing a growth scan and NST. I'm scared SHITLESS about possibly being induced today.

My fundal height is always behind at the end--it might not be anything to worry about. I was measuring 2 weeks behind at my 39 week appt, and I've been getting weekly NSTs and AFIs--baby girl is measuring fine.
  • @booger+Bear  Good luck!!!!! I hope everything goes smoothly!
  • I had a natural birth and while mine was irregularly long, I don't know if I could ever do it again, unless I'm brain washed of the pain. The experience was by far worth it but the pain is no joke!

The idea that this kid will be born naked was, to me, shocking new information.  I realized she's not wearing pants while swimming around down there.  And would be naked in the delivery room.  Yeah, this isn't my first kid.

I did this, too, a couple weeks ago and this is my 2nd kid. Maybe it's because, this time, it's a boy and I don't have a lot of experience with newborn boys.

    I'm fairly sure you can't over-feed a newborn. They'll refuse if they're not hungry!
(Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. Sometimes DS won't finish his bottle and it seems like he just wasn't as hungry then. Sometimes he guzzles it down.)

My pediatrician told me you can.. I asked this question on Wednesday. You can tell because they will spit up the majority of it. I accidentally over fed him yesterday and my carpet payed the price.

Yep, I forgot quick enough to do it again 17 months later. For me at least, the pain is totally worth feeling amazing afterward.

Right, but baby won't become obese, he will just spit up what he doesn't need. So I think that's what the PPs meant.

Oh I see. Sorry! *im running on no sleep*

  • I'm secretly happy DH is working tonight. I am not in a romantic mood at all plus no sex for at least two more weeks.

  • @dreamingbabies I felt the exact same way with my first.  I lasted throughout my maternity leave and even tried pumping at work, but I felt like a perv and stopped.  I was more than ready to switch to formula and bottles.  Her tummy handled it better too.  Props to you for continuing, but don't feel bad if you are ready to quit.

  • I do not enjoy breastfeeding. The whole thing is uncomfortable and weirds me out.

FTM here and still waiting on LO, but expecting to feel the same way. I'm gonna give it a try and have my supplies/breast pump all ready to go... But I'm already planning on hating it for various reasons. I hope I'm wrong and just trying to not set myself up for failure.

  • FFFC: I won't let my docs check me because I'm afraid I'll either have false hopes of going into labor or crushed dreams of ever having this baby come out and I'll cave to an induction next week.

Ditto on the wipes!!  plus I barely have enough room to get the cup down there to get the sample!  My Dr's office really needs bigger toilets I guess?!

Hope you get the news you are wanting today re: induction!

  • Since my husband and I got married 8 years ago, the deal was if I cook/he cleans up and vice versa.

Well, for the last few months he's only been half-way cleaning up.  Sure, he puts the dishes in the dishwasher, but he doesn't wipe down the countertops or the stove. Plus, he loads the dishwasher up as full as possible, so half the time when we unload it, there's still dirty dishes.

I've mentioned to it to him before that 'cleaning up' also entails wiping countertops, etc., yet he continues to do it.  I know I should be thankful that he does that much, but right now I just want to rip his head off everytime I go in there after he has 'cleaned up' and it's still not all the way done!! grrr... okay rant over. Maybe that was more of a rant than an FFFC I guess??

  • Bad mom confession...I was holding LO and snuggling with the cat next to me. As I was talking to our cat I felt the urge to sneeze so I turned my head so I wouldn't sneeze on him...well I ended up sneezing on my baby. The look she gave me was priceless...but I feel awful.

    That is freaking hilarious.
