Babymoon anyone?

Anyone else planning a trip before baby comes? We didn't do one last time but I really want to do one this time. We are planning a week-long trip to Anna Maria Island in Florida during May. We haven't been ANYWHERE since before DD was born!

I didn't really plan it as a babymoon, but we're flying to Canada in May to cheer on my mom in her first full marathon.

We're also supposed to attend a family reunion in Mexico in January... not so sure if that'll happen.

We aren't able to afford it with building a house, plus I basically have a month more or less guaranteed without travel restrictions.

If I could babymoon anywhere it would be to Alaska. Or maybe back to the Grand Tetons.

Mexico and Europe sound awesome! I guess I shouldn't really call it a "babymoon" since we are taking LO with us, but it will still be awesome to get out of town for a week

@aggiebeth06, congrats on building! We built our home in October, it was fun but stressful at times picking everything out and trying to coordinate

We are going to try to get away for a weekend without DD. i havent been away from her yet and shes 18 months. I really need some hubby time!

@mer313131 My parents live on Anna Maria Island! It is one of my favorite places on Earth

. We did a babymoon/5 year wedding anniversary to Hawaii before my son was born and it was wonderful. We have summer trips planned, but since I will be traveling with a 2yo, they will not be a restful babymoon :P

We are going to NYC next weekend with some friends (our original trip got cancelled due to the snowstorm in January) and we are going on a Caribbean cruise in April! We've had it booked since July. We also had a CA/NE cruise booked for the end of August but we'll be cancelling that one.

We have talked about planning a "babymoon" for this summer. At first we wanted to do a cruise but haven never done one before I am not sure if I would enjoy it being pregnant and possibly sick so we are looking at other options. But we will definitely find something or somewhere to go for a few days to have some time to ourselves before the baby comes.

We'll probably do a few long weekends here and there, but nothing huge. DH's cousin is getting married in Red Deer, Canada over Labor Day weekend, so we may or may not go depending on how I'm feeling. It's a 10 hour drive from where we live, but we'll see.

Going to Cape May for a week in early August with BF's family. Guess its not really a baby moon if family will be there! His siblings live in other parts of the US so they will fly in, and his parents. Have had it booked since last fall. It should be fun!

I think we will. I'm not sure what we're going to do, but I really hope we get one good vacation with just the two of us before life changes. If it's early enough, we might do one of those cruises that leave last-minute. You save a ton of money and the port is about two hours away, so it'll make for a great and inexpensive get away.

We are going to Pensacola for 10 days in June & we are thinking about going to NYC for a weekend since Derek Jeter just announced he is retiring after this season. My DH is a huge baseball fan and I would love to see another game at Yankee Stadium. We'll see if we can make it happen. We are also planning a weekend in KY with my brother and his family. We are taking all the kids to Dinosaur World. I think DS will love it. We love to travel and I don't plan to stop just because I'm pregnant or have a second kid. It's what keeps me sane

The only trip I'm planning is to Houston to meet my newest niece in April! Super excited for that trip.. It's my sis's first too. Can't do more than that b/c I have to save up as much vacation time as I can for when LO gets here.

We are thinking of going to Hawaii, but not sure if I am going to have travel restrictions yet. Planning a trip to NYC with friends in June to watch the Yankees, see a show and have some great food!

@AlliBalleza - Some cruise lines don't let you sail if you are pregnant, so that's something to look into! My whole family went on a cruise a few years ago and my cousin wasn't allowed to go because she was like 6 months pregnant and their policy was that you couldn't sail if you were more than 4 months along or something. Some liability issue, I'm sure.

We were going to take DD to Disney but DH and I have 3 bachelor/bachelorette parties to attend a piece!! With a new baby and so many weddings our money tree will too dry to consider a vacation!

@teresaide yeah, I am worried we won't do it early enough. It's weird to think I'm already almost two months preggo. But the food on cruises is to DIE for, and I know I would enjoy the all you can eat ice cream and pizza.

...On second thought, maybe I should stay the hell away from a cruise, lol!

We are planning 2. One for Buenos Aires in Argentina (April) and a secon one in May, probably to Florida (not sure where yet).

We're going to the UK in May and Vancouver in June, but those are more to visit family than a relaxing babymoon. We did take a pre-ttc conceive trip in early January to an all inclusive in Mexico where I drank non-stop and sat in the sauna and hot tub to my hearts content.

Since we are not sure how long we are going to live in Australia, we want to try to hit up the remaining bucket list spots before baby gets here (it also might also be hard to see some of these with a baby). So, my parents are coming in two weeks and we are going to New Zealand for a week and then I think we are having some friends visit around May and we are trying to go to the Great Barrier Reef and possibly Melbourne as well. If our friends don't come then, we are probably going to go to those two places around then anyway.

Yes! It is a babymoon/ 5 year wedding anniversary at the end of June/ beginning of July. We typically go somewhere in the Caribbean (we frequent Punta Cana), but since I will be pregnant, I feel more comfortable staying in the US. So we rented a house for two weeks in Southern Florida. Cannot wait!

I will be saving all my monies and vacation time most likely! We can always take a semi-staycation to New Orleans for the day and maybe a quick trip to the Gulf (Alabama or Florida) but nothing major.

Right now the most exciting destination I can think of is my couch and/or bed!

Just hoping that my little brother doesn't have a destination wedding anytime around October. I think he is planning to propose in April. I already told his gf (love her and so very happy for them) that I was ku so maybe she will have her dream wedding in 2015.

We are planning something for early May but DH is about to start a new job so it will be a long weekend. We are in NJ and thinking Cape Cod or Ocean City would be good.. not to long a drive but far enough away :-)

We are going on a cruise in May. It was planned pre-pregnancy, though no details were finalized. I'm going anyway. I need my vacation fix. I've been on 5 cruises and always see preggos. I'm joining the party!

It's a whole family affair, so we'll have a blast. My mom always tells me of the places I have been, before I was born and after. So I think it will be cool to tell my kid I snuck them in and out of the country without a passport when they were little. :-)

We were just talking about this today. We are definitely doing a babymoon. I think it's easier to have one kid watched for a few days than 2 so we are not going to miss out the opportunity to go on vacation before #2 comes. We still haven't decided where... we're thinking San Francisco, San Diego, or maybe even Florida (we're on the western side of the country).

I would love to, but we are so house poor right now so we probably won't. We moved into a new house last year are in the middle of remodeling and furnishing it. And now we have to work double-duty with a nursery and big boy room to do! So. Much. Money.

I would love to go back to Hawaii! DH and I want to go to Chicago, Seattle, and New York as well at some point.

I'd like to take a last family of 3 vacation before baby bit not sure we will be able to afford it. We just had surgery on one of our dogs and aren't getting a tax refund this year.

For our first we spent a few nights in Times Square, NYC when I was 7 months along. It was more so for our anniversary than a babymoon, but I guess it could double as both. This time around we already have a trip paid for and planned to Disney World, where again I will be 28-29 weeks along. I am use to going to Florida in the summer months (I'm a teacher and mainly travel then), but this vaca will be more pool side lounging vs park running now, which is ok with me! We are staying at one of the deluxe resorts with an awesome pool and boat access to Magic Kingdom for quick and easy transportation.

Would love to! Our 5 year wedding anniversary is in July. We go to HHI for 2 weeks in June, but that is with my parents. Maybe a weekend getaway somewhere fun.

We usually go camping towards the end of summer with Dh's family, but I am reconsidering going now. Seriously, being roughly 30 weeks camping in a tent, with a 2 & 1/2 yo, no air conditioning, being 4 hours from home, and pretty much everyone will be drunk after noon... not sounding so fun anymore...

Pretty sure I might just let dh go himself and have a ball. Give lo to my mother for a weekend and take a girlfriend and go somewhere to relax.

My sister is getting married in the UK 2 days after our 5th wedding anniversary in July. We'll be turning the trip to the wedding into a vacation celebrating our anniversary, my 30th bday a few weeks later, and a babymoon.
