  • I never used my middle name on scantron? Also I used half my (hyphenated) last name enough where almost all my official documents only use that - except my birth certificate. When I signed my mortgage stuff I did have to use my middle initial since that is what is used in my bank statements. Other than that, I haven't used it my adult life.
  • I'm going to be a super special snowflake tomorrow, since I don't have school and DH is off work, and I'm going to call my doctor and see if the lousy weather opened up any ultrasound appointments, so maybe we can have our AS tomorrow instead of next Tuesday. I'm getting so incredibly impatient! We haven't seen Sprout since 8.5 weeks, and I really wanna see that little baby nose! (Our US picture looked like a rubber duck, since Sprout was so tiny still) Oh, and of course I'm dying to be able to give this child a proper name instead of Sprout.

  • For a split second I was thinking of giving our kid two middle names, because I didn't change my last name when I got married and I thought it might be neat for them to have my last name as a second middle.  But DH's last name is already two words (Van last name), so we figured that five words would definitely be pushing it!
I liked the two middle name idea, because if we had a boy I wanted to honor both grandpas with the middle name... Plus, I think people with 4 names sound so distinguished!  But DH totally vetoed 4 names due to the hassle with IDs/forms and not wanting to torture our kid.  Boo!

For the record, we have a short last name (4 letters) so running out of bubbles wasn't really an issue! ;-)

  • I'm addicted to skittles!  I was diagnosed with Type 2 like three weeks ago and I bought them in case my blood sugar dropped to low and now I cant keep my hands out of the numerous bags I have bought...ahhhhhh Thankfully I'm keeping my blood sugar under control.
  • ^^^ Why -- what do I not know?

DH has banned me from red dyes and thus, fruit rollups. I want to throw an on-the-floor temper tantrum about it. Red is the best flavor of EVERYTHING.
I would have a tantrum too! Why, may I ask, have you been banned from red?

  • I am buying cookie butter next weekend. My dad sends me a Valentine's day card every year. This year he sent me a card with Tinker Bell on it. It is cute. I had tacos for breakfast this morning. They were delicious. I am really excited for my A/S Monday!

  • Guys, my feet are already starting to swell. It's too early for this, and I really don't want to have to deal with elephant feet for the next 5 months... :(

I had to take my wedding ring off. I miss it so much. It was getting tight and I just couldn't bear the thought of it getting cut.

I don't think they often cut rings off anymore, when I had my D&C they just wrapped tape over it cause it was too tight for me to get off
  • I'm tired of having to tell DH to go to bed like he's a little kid. He gets up really early in the morning to get to work. Because he had to clear the snow off the driveway tonight, he felt he was entitled to drink who knows how much beer while he was outside without eating dinner. Drinking typically makes him hyperactive, so when he came in he started about ten different tasks without finishing anything instead of just going to bed and getting a decent night sleep. Plus he tells me he was drinking like it was some big confession. No shit. I was aware of this with the first slurred word out of his mouth. Why don't I just ignore this shit? Because when he's tired he acts like a whiney douche, especially after working all day. Tomorrow is Valentines Day and we made plans to get take-out and spend time together. I will be pissed if I get to spend the evening hearing about how tired he is and then watching tv by myself because he just won't be able to stay awake. I wish he would start thinking about the consequences of his actions.

Why does your font change in the middle of your post? You aren't the only one I've noticed this with. Is it just my computer? What's going on???

  • @autumnbonfire- I feel your pain, absolutely. How obnoxious. I made a rule that anytime DH comes to bed drunk I get a foot massage, so that's only happened twice lol.

I have no idea why it does that. I started a second paragraph and then changed my mind and backspaced and it randomly changed. This website has been acting strangely for me all evening. I'll try to refresh a thread and it will freeze, so I have to close the page and go in again. Every other site I've been on works just fine. I don't know what's going on.

You're right, typically I would laugh at anyone trying to ban me from something, but apparently red dye #40 is pretty awful for you.  It's been linked to behavioral issues in kids and has also been banned for use in Europe.  He'd rather I stay away from all processed foods in general, but bish needs her salt and vinegar chips and one jar o' nacho cheese a week, knowhatimsayin?

There are some things that he gets worried about and if it helps him to feel more connected to the invisible onion in my belly, I'm willing to play along on some things.  Add a box of fruit rollups and all of the red (haribo) gummy bears ever to my push present basket o' goodies.
Okay...I'll accept that answer :P It's cute that he is concerned.

  • I took DS to daycare today even though I have the day off work again due to snow. There's like a foot and a half or something crazy out there since yesterday. My neighbor had to pull my car out of the driveway because I got stuck on the ridge made by the snow plow. All this so DS could go to his daycare Valentine's Day party. We took homemade cookies and valentines for all his buddies.

DH calls them to say he'll pick DS up on his way home from work and they tell him the party was postponed until Monday because half the kids aren't there. That would be fine, except DS wasn't going to be there. DH has that day off because of President's Day and was going to have a daddy/son day. Now we're going to take DS anyway, which means I have to withdrawl my credit day request. All for a 1 and 2 year old's Valentine's Day party. I have to say though, I'm pretty excited about a day all to myself. Plus I think DH could use some free time on Monday too.

  • I left my DH a beer sampler pack and a card on the kitchen counter when I left for work this morning. I also forgot the envelope I was supposed to mail out today that was on the kitchen counter next to his present. I saw a text from him when I got to work, expecting it to be a "thank you" or a "you're so sweet". Instead, I opened the text and got a "you forgot the mail". :-/

  • I already cussed DH out this morning. Course he was already at work and didn't hear me, but believe me... he really got it. I passed out cold around 9:30, so I asked him to wash some jeans for me so I had something to wear to work. I have ONE pair of pants that fit me right now, so I am wearing another pair of jeans unbuttoned. I got up this morning to wet jeans because he didn't turn the dryer on and to my leftovers from dinner that he brought in from the restaurant left out on the counter overnight. DUDE! Two things you don't mess with... a pregnant woman's food and a pregnant woman's comfort. Seriously, could care less if I get anything for Valentines Day, I would be happy with just a little thoughtfulness.

I had this exact thought this morning! I keep getting Happy Valentines Day picture texts from all friends with babies and I CANNOT wait to do this next year!

  • @aliletz The Simply Balanced Target brand of fruit strips (kind of like a fruit roll up) don't have any unnatural dyes in them and they actually are pretty good. Not a substitute, but maybe it will help :-)

    Baby leggings are stupid.
I hate hate hate wearing jeans and generally wear leggings, shorts or dresses. So I feel bad putting my baby in little leg prisons. I've bought a ton of baby leggings. They seem practical. Leggings meaning stretch pants that go on over a onesie to cover up her legs from getting cold.
    imageimage

The only problem with baby leggings is if your LO has chubby legs. We tried them with DD and she would end up with big indents on her thighs, like they were cutting off her blood circulation. She had some super chunky legs, though.

Lol ewwww clam jam sounds funky. But you better believe I'm using twat swat from now on.
  • Leg warmers are stupid no matter who wears them :) leggings are fine IMO!

Also I love dream dinners, been using them for years now and it makes life so much easier!
  • I forgot to bring my lunch today, so I got something from my work cafeteria.  It was this disgusting mush of corn, mac & cheese, sausage, onions and peppers all stirred up into one big dish.  It looked gross and tasted gross.

I still ate every last bite.
