Recommend your sippy cup

We just got the green light from the pediatrician to start using sippy cups.  We tried the playtex brand and the spout seems to hard for DD.  Any recommendations for a sippy cup your LO likes?

  • We have tried so many! He likes the nuk ones. The best is the platex straw cups though! He caught on to them after a couple minutes!

  • She does really well with the Avent sippy with the silicone spout. It's soft like a bottle nipple but shaped like a regular spout.

  • I have a bottle hater who is apparently a sippy cup hater, too. The only non-boob she will drink from is a straw cup. We have these and she does great with them. Plus, a straw is better for dental and speech development.

  • DS1 would never take a sippy cup so we went to the straw cup and he loved it. I skipped the sippy all together with DS2 and went to straw cup instead. We use the Zoli.

  • @jayro10 and @5953fpp tell me more about these straw cups.  I always assumed they were for toddlers.

  • It's a really soft tip straw. He took to it the first time about a month ago. I love these cups! They do leak though.
  • Thanks ladies!  I went to target yesterday to look for some straw cups, they all say 12+, is that standard?

The straw on the Munchkin cup is soft. There is a little weight on the bottom so no matter which way they hold it, the straw stays in the milk. We've never had a problem with leaking. They were $6 at my store, which is cheaper than the Zoli cup. I didn't see them at Target, but I got them at our local grocery store (Meijer) and obviously BRU has them. It took her a few days to be able to drink from it without dribbling a lot out, but she does really well now.

Eta I can't remember what age the package said, but straws are totally fine to introduce now. Most probably say 12 months because most babies take bottles and don't start cups till a year, unlike my baby. ;)
