Birth control

I am almost 8 weeks PP and still no period. I haven't had sex so not pregnant. Can I start taking my birth control yet? Or do I wait for my period? I have a call in to OB just want to see if anyone here has dealt with this!

    Are you breast feeding? If you are you may not get your period back for a while. Take the birth control

    I asked my pharmacist and with the mini pill she said to just start it 6w pp. So I started it yesterday. She also said with the mini pill (the one I'm on) you take a hormone pill every day. There are no placebo pills. So it's possible you may not get a period with them or just spotting. I think eventually after you've been on them for awhile you get a "period" at the end of the pill pack but who knows. In the package insert it says to start at 6w if exclusively breastfeeding and 3w if you supplement with formula. So I would say start them :)

    Started mine at 6 weeks pp and was told to immediately take them not to wait but I do breastfeed not sure if that is why I didn't have to wait
