We signed our son up for daycare! We put a deposit down! I think my head is going to explode.
So, this is good because we got the spot we want in the daycare we want, it's good because he will have a place to go when I go back to work, and it's good because I get to cross it off the baby to-do list. But the part of it that really gets me is that it feels like the ultimate commitment that we are actually going to have a child. All this time it's been really hard to imagine that we would ever get there. And even though this pregnancy has gone well, it's hard not be haunted by the other ones. Right now I feel like I am going to have a real, live, baby and take him to real, live daycare and it is blowing. my. mind.
Just needed to share.
And HOLY CRAP we are gonna be poor.

And, I totally get that feeling of doing things that make him real for you. I am 5 weeks behind you but feeling similarly; just little things that make me pause and say "wow, I think I believe she's going to be born" - but hard not to go back to the old experiences for sure.
Congrats to you and S! And the poor thing will work itself out...
