@Nichole8787 Okay, your siggy is driving me crazy. Do me a big favor and replace what you currently have there with this code. (Make sure you click the little white box with the red arrows first.)
Thank you so much! I am so slow when it comes to this stuff. I tried setting it up with my nook and failed miserably. Apparently I was just missing the step where I click the box with the red arrows. I'm slow lol
If it's a part of your bloodline and means something special to you, go for it!! There is no reason not to spell it the way you want! Especially this way is not weird to me at all.
It's a perfectly acceptable way to spell the name. My daughters MN is Sophia. I wanted to spell it with an F, but H refused. He said it was too close to "sofa". Ugh, men!
Thanks again everyone. I will have to show this thread to my mom when we tell her the name and she starts making comments on the spelling...cause she will, oh she will.
Yep, I'm late to the game but wanted to say that I love Sofia - it's a beautiful name! I definitely consider it to be the normal spelling, along with Sophia. I also love that you are going to call her Sofie - adorable
Oh, I'm someone who hates weird spellings for names (like putting in a "y" just for the hell of it), and I wouldn't side-eye it at all. As you said, it's the German/Italian spelling. And I LOVE that name! So I guess a 1! Just don't spell it "Sofya" or something stupid like that. LOL
I am really against weird or made-up spellings, but this isn't either one. Heck Sofia with an "f" is even Disney sanctioned so who can argue with an entire successful franchise? DS adores Sofia with an "f" and I think thanks to the show you will find people very receptive and familiar with that spelling, your mother excepted perhaps.
Thanks guys! @knittylady I think we decided on Sofia Marie. My great-grandmother's name was Mary so it's related to that, but we like the way Sofia Marie works rhythmically with the emphasis on the second syllable.
I also like Sofia Renee, but DH's grandmother is named Renee and she's still alive, and in Jewish culture that's a big no-no. So that one has to be out.
Re: AW and baby name question but I want your opinions
It's on my list, but I think it is just too popular for me (obviously "Sophia" is the more popular version)
