What are you reading?

Re: What are you reading?

  • Currently, I'm reading Wolf Hall. It historical fiction about the Tudors. I've been reading through all Phillipa Gregory's books and this is a filler book by another author. I like it but prefer Gregory as a writer.

My all time favorite series is Outlander by Diana Gabeldon. I'm waiting for the release if the 8th book in the series. Best series ever and they are in the process of making a Starz mini series.

You would probably like John Irving as well, have you read him? Great books. This was for K&M9

I was reading these for awhile, I think I read 3 of them. Maybe I'll give them another try. I remember liking them.

I just finished Gone Girl. I liked it. It was an easy fast read. I read while on vacation and it helped pass the time on the plane. I like the authors writing style a lot.
My book club read gone girl last year... Holy crap that was one F-ed up book! Fun discussion book though.
Did you guys see they are making a movie out of it?
Oh man, creepy. Have they announced the cast yet? I guess I could google...
Gone Girl?  Isn't Ben Affleck doing that?
Yeah, I don't know how I feel about that...but Neil Patrick Harris!

If you were reading the outlander series, I don't know how you put them down!!! I started reading them right before I got pregnant with DD. Bought the whole published series at once from half.com.

Got a Kindle two years ago so now I read everything on that. Wish I had a kindle when I traveled all the time. Carrying around several books took up space and was heavy.

And if The Road is the same one I read several years ago, it was extremely dark and left me disturbed. I tried to wipe it from my memory.

Anyone that likes mysteries, Nelson Demille is a great author.

  • I am reading Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. I'm a bit stuck in the middle now, enjoyed the beginning though. It is very well written and a much much much better read than my previous book - Fifty Shades Freed. Which of course was preceded by the other two in the series. What drill. I am by no means a prude, I enjoyed the steamy scenes a plenty, it even got me going a little. But really, there was just TOO MUCH of it. Well, this was not the only problem with those books. I have read many many books, and the author's style of writing...it just makes me sad. And a bit flabbergasted - how did she ever get printed???

I really liked the first one, and I tried to read the whole series, but I couldn't get myself through the 3rd or 4th one (can't remember).

  • I just finished The Fault in our Stars by John Green for the second time (I ugly cried too). I read it about a year and a half ago and then my book club read it last month. Our next book club book is The Happiness Project, but I am not really into it, so I keep reading The Book Thief. :)

I love that you are reading Wool! I adore those books.

I'm re-reading the Harry Potter series for the 900th time. I'm also reading Hild by Nicola Griffith, The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson, Living Beautifully with Uncertainty and Change by Pema Chodron, and Expecting Better by Emily Oster. <-- giving this one a bit of side eye to be honest.

I couldn't make it through that book. I just put it down and watched the movie.

  • If you like "I Know This Much is True" you should read "Middlesex" by Eugenides.

I just finished Michael Chabon's "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay" it was very good!

Now reading "This is Where I Leave You" super funny.
