Hygeia Q Breast Pump anyone?

My insurance, BCBS HMO offered the Ameda Purely Yours, the Medela PIS, and the Hygeia Q. The Hygeia Q is a closed system and its hospital grade and endorsed by LLL. Has anyone else used this pump before? What did you think?

I haven't used it but the LC that taught my breastfeeding multiples class said the Hygeia was her favorite one. She went on and on about how it was the best for exclusively pumping and the company was awesome.

I just received my hygeia today, but won't be needing it for another couple if weeks! The rep I spoke with a yummy mummy highly recommended it. Its very small and lightweight, which was a huge selling point for me as in will be transporting back and forth to work.

Another FTM here. This is the one I chose through my insurance as well. I don't know anyone who has used it, but the research I did on it was all positive (from what I remember). Also, not to say that price = quality, but I think it retails for close to $400, so that should say something about it too

I'm a FTM too, but I have BCBS as well and those were my options too. I went with the hygeia based on what I read about it from various sources and that it's "hospital grade".

I just ordered mine, and I chose that one as well. I have a Medela Freestyle from my last pregnancy, so I'm excited to be able to try the Hygeia and see which one works better for me.

I had the choice for that one too, but went with the medela. That was only because some of the reviews stated they could not just run out to get parts for it at Target. Since this would be my first time pumping I wanted to be sure I could go out and run and grab something if needed.

Yes I was told there was an adapter kit for like $6 which is good because we registered for all Medela parts.

That review is one persons take on it and the rest do not specifically address the Hygeia Q. From what I read you didnt even use the Hygeia Q, correct? You had a Medela?

I had rented a Hygeia from the hospital with my first one and LOVED it! It was some much quicker and easier to handle than my medela afterwards
