Medela vs Hygeia Pump

FTM here.....any opinions on these two brands for a breast pump? The lady at the medical supply store was really trying to sell me on the Hygeia. Said it was just as good as Medela (even with stronger/faster suction). And it's cheaper than Medela. Any suggestions?

    I didn't love my Medela PISA over the past two pregnancies so I'm getting an Ameda this time. My first choice is to rent one from the hospital but you have to get an RX from the Pedi to do that. Since supply is limited I may not be able to do it.

    I've never heard of the Hygeia, but I have a Medela Freestyle, and it worked well... Not as well as the hospital pump that I ended up renting, but I didn't expect it to.  I would buy it again.

    FTM I'm buying the Medela freestyle breast pump and never heard of Hygeia as well

    Here is a blog post from a girl that was on my first BMB. She pumped with a PISA for her first and was given this one to try for her second LO. Based on her review I would be tempted to go with the Hygeia, although I had no problems using my PISA 3x/day for 12 months.

    Hope this helps a little, it's a great review b/c she has used both the PISA and Hygeia

    Interesting.  The things she didn't like about the Medela PISA (the tiny parts and the fact that it was attached to a bag) aren't an issue for the Medela Freestyle... the Freestyle has larger parts and isn't attached to a bag. 

    ETA: I was also able to pump directly into our Avent bottles.

    Thanks for that link YankeePeach08. That was a very nice and thorough review, I really think I'm leaning towards the Hygeia myself. I really haven't read hardly any complaints about it.
