Hi all!

This started as the bleeder's check in (yeah sorry, no fancier name) but it sounds like a lot of our girls' experiencing bleeding in 2nd tri have been doing pretty well lately! Yay!

I'm expanding this check in to include the girls who are just plain having struggles and need some extra love and T&Ps. Contractions, pre-term labor issues, bed rest, hospitalization, etc.

So if you're still having bleeding, or just scary issues going on in general, please post below and give us an update. Then we can smother you all in good juju and well wishes for you and your little baby.

  • @Rachel5130 I think a little crampiness normal! I have anterior placentas and after my a/s I was crampy and felt sore. If it goes on much longer though I'd call your doc, bc mine went away that day.

  • I was feeling crampy and my doctor suggested drinking an electrolyte drink daily since we are peeing so frequently we lose lots of electrolytes. I did this for about a week now and have had little to no cramping. If cramps get worse or more frequent and don't go away with rest and hydration go to the hospital.

  • Sending everyone lots of good wishes and thoughts and prayers.

@Rachel5130, if it's been 3-4 days and you're still experiencing pain and cramping, I'd just give them a call to let your doctor know. I get sore for a day or so after ultrasounds but that's because at times they're pressing harder because I have extra weight (my way of saying I'm a bit chubby). I'm sure that's not your problem. Good luck!

  • @katekat8721 - that's what I figured. It's now been 3-4 days and I'm a little worried. I'm waiting for the office to open but wanted to make sure I wasn't being a drama queen. FTM and not sure what to physically expect. Thank you. :)

Yeah I'd call at this point! You're not a spazzy FTM or drama queen, don't worry!

@Rachel5130 I think you saw my reply but I would call to be sure. I was usually sore for a few days because of my fibroid - they would have to poke and prod a LOT. But better safe than sorry.

I started out as one of the bleeders and I'm happy to report it's getting much better! Blood clot is still large (9 cm at last measure?) but that was slightly smaller and it looks like it's getting absorbed finally. The last few days I've had spotting but nothing out of control so I'm happy :) Sending happy, healthy thoughts to all those who are having a rough time.

I'm glad it's somewhat reabsorbing! Waiting for mine to go away too. Stupid clots! Hang in there girlie!

  • katekat8721! You hang in there too :)

  • @wareagle1220 I think so! I've heard mine called SCH, hematoma, clot, grossness with the mostness, etc

No bleeding and cramping is good! Rest it up mama, you're really doing all that you can already xo

  • Thinking of all you ladies that are struggling

  • @katekat8721, that's kind of what I thought.  My doctor just called it a hematoma, but I thought it was the same as a SCH.  Thanks!

Yup, same thing! The SCH = subchorionic hematoma. I just say hematoma b/c some of the doctors looked at me like I watched too much Grey's Anatomy when I'd say SCH lol.

  • So, I have mentioned it in a couple check-ins but now we have a dedicated thread I'll share my issue I've been dealing with.

I passed out at work Dec. 3, and doctors have kept me off work since. Reason being, I spent almost a week straight afterwards without being able to sit up without feeling horribly nauseous and dizzy. I have continued to be off work because with most any activity (light housework - dishes, picking up the floors, etc) I begin to get really dizzy, warm, and/or nauseous. I caught my blood pressure a couple times during some of these episodes and my blood pressure spikes into 170's/100's (way too high... especially since my pre-pregnancy blood pressures were normally 90's/40's). So... since I work 12 hours shifts in a very busy ICU, doctors felt I shouldn't be up doing things that could cause me to pass out and endanger myself, baby, or patients.

So... where I'm at now... still off work, ordered to 'take it easy' and stop ignoring my body. (I was trying to continue to do things hoping that it would help me get back to work). My cardiologist thinks I have an autonomic nervous system disorder that has never been diagnosed... and unfortunately can't be officially diagnosed until after pregnancy. So, until then, we just try to contain the symptoms until June. Lastly, my OB ran bloodwork last week to begin monitoring me for preeclampsia. Everything last week was ok except I'm anemic. So, at least we have a good baseline now to continue to monitor my blood pressure isssues closely.

Sending thoughts and prayer to all you other ladies having issues.
  • @cdk211 and @loherrim - "cramping" is a poor choice of words. I had cramping early on, felt like a menstrual cramp, and that was my uterus stretching. This feels like... A water balloon got filled up WAYYYY too much, now it is empty and sore. And every time you move the box it is in, it's screaming in protest. That is a weird ass analogy, but I'm sure you can get it. And oddly enough it is in the higher portion of the uterus. Not lower by my lady biz like menstrual cramps. And I haven't noticed a correlation between hardness. It comes and goes. Thanks for being awesome pals.
I know what you mean - I'm anterior as well, and have been having some throbbing pains in my upper abdominal/uterus area, too.  If it makes you feel any better, I went in to get it checked out, and it was just that - stretching, uncomfortable muscles.  I would definitely check it out though, just for peace of mind!

Thinking healthy thoughts for you ladies on here and your LOs.

  • @megk82 How scary! I hope they can give you some answers when they get the results back from the monitor. T&Ps that it is nothing serious.

I know I could start my own SS thread for this but thought I'd just stick this here since it's a recent thread.

I just got back from the ER. I had been having labored breathing all day and went to bed early to see if that would help, it didn't. Around 10 pm, I got to the point where I was having hard time breathing and feeling like I was getting enough oxygen and then had crazy chest tightness and pain. When that went away, I felt I could finally breath a bit better, so I tried to settle down a bit and rest but then my whole body started tremoring, so decided I should go in just to make sure nothing scary was happening. They did an EKG and a blood draw to make sure there was no damage to my heart and a met panel and it all came back normal and fine. The doctor did decide I should do the 2 week heart monitor patch, so I will be calling tomorrow to set up the appointment to have that placed. Just wanted to update you.
That is scary Meg! I'm so sorry you're going through this. Please keep us posted. Lots of good thoughts your way xo

  • @loherrim I'm glad to hear your lupus flare has subsided quite a bit. I used to know a lady with lupus and when she had a flare up the slightest touch would send her through the roof.

As for me I've been referred to a cardiologist for my rapid heart rate. My short term disability case has finally been settled and I was approved until 6 weeks post partum. I also get back pay which is coming just in time as car insurance is due, propane bill is outrageous and due, medical bills are piling up and my check engine light is on.

@megk82 I'm not sure exactly what's going on with your chest tightness and trouble breathing but I went to physical therapy last week and told her I've been short of breath. She did this stretching thing that helps relieve the tension caused by a growing uterus. It made me feel a little better and breathing got a little easier. Not sure but maybe on too of whatever other treatment you have it might help.

Eta I just read the post. I hope it's nothing major. That's pretty scary.
  • @caitykate I'm thinking of you! Update when you can.

I fell. I'm in L&D. I'm having cramping. I'm on the contraction monitor right now. Can hear baby's heartbeat. Dr wants to do internal exam but won't because of my placenta prévia. I'm so worn out.
T&Ps to you sweets! Take it really easy and guzzle some water. Glad baby sounds ok!

Hope hubby gets there soon. I would hate to be alone right now too :(

Have you been tested for anemia? It is common during pregnancy and can really mess up your heart rhythms. My first pregnancy made me very anemic and I would feel like I was having a heart attack sometimes because my heart pounded so hard.

Aw no! I'm sorry @sarajoy00 . Every time I see this post get bump my heart drops a little. I hope that bleeding stops ASAP.

So far it has. It was just a small dime size of bright red blood.. Nothing came out when I peed, it was after when normally I would get discharge, only this time it was blood. Wondering if maybe I got up funny? Maybe combination of that and being severly constipated? I had an ultrasound Wed, but i think if it was an irritant from that it would have been more brown. Dehydration maybe? Idk. I "saw" my OB thursday, but it was a different OB.. So i wasnt able to really discuss anything with her. Idk.
