Graco Jogging Stroller

I went to Babies 'R Us the other day and tried out all the strollers. I really didn't expect to like a jogger but my dad pointed out that I walk 2-3 miles a day on our back country road and questioned whether or not the little wheels on a regular stroller would hold up quite as well. I'm thinking of getting this one:

https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=19039616&fromRegistryNumber=52317518&product_skn=886197

We are set on the Graco Click Connect 35 carseat and this one comes with it. It even comes in black which is what we want! It's just really kind of big for the mall, etc. I have a subaru so not a ton of trunk space either.

Does anyone have an opinion on this stroller, good or bad? I found a dinky umbrella stroller out in the garage from when I nannied to trade it to get the 25% off coupon. A woman my mom knows said she has an old car seat I can trade in too so I may also get this stroller for everyday stuff:

Any opinions on that one either? TIA!! :)

Re: Graco Jogging Stroller

  • We registered for the Britax travel system. I think it'll work for both going to the mall and walking in that park occasionally and it's similar to the second stroller you linked.

I just wonder how much you'll really walk with a baby or newborn that would make lugging a jogging stroller around worth it. Sometimes I think people get this idea in their mind that they're going to walk every day and then reality sets in.

We are set on the graco car seat though so we need a graco stroller. I walk NOW daily but I don't know for sure what will happen with a baby.

Oh, I wasn't trying to convert you to Britax, lol. I just mentioned that that's what we registered for.

ETA: @cakebatter27 I guess I didn't explain myself well the first time, lol. We had the same concerns with a regular stroller holding up to the outdoors and asphalt. But, at the same time we'll be using it more for everyday stuff than walking outside. And I don't jog, lol.

  • I'm a FTM, so I don't *really* know what I'm talking about, but this is the stroller we bought at target during their clearance sale a couple weeks ago. Granted, it was my only choice on super sale but we pulled the display model and ran it around and I checked reviews on amazon and BRU and decided it was worth it for $60. Our plan is to get a more portable one for everyday use, and to use this one for activities that are exclusively baby-oriented haha. Good luck choosing!

Just because you get a graco car seat does not mean you have to get a graco stroller. A lot of strollers have car seat adapters. I have a graco car seat and the Baby Jogger City Mini, which I LOVE! It's not a true jogger (although I do jog with it) so it's smaller, very light and folds up compactly.

And as for walking, I didn't do it much in the first few weeks but I did walk a few miles most days once DD was a month or two old, so a great stroller was really important!

  • I have a BOB revolution and it was my main stroller. It wasn't that big and it was very nice to push. I am a runner, though. That things has over 4000 miles on it. I actually bought the double for this one since DS still doesn't mind going for runs with me.

I think having the larger wheels is a must for rough roads. It will roll a lot easier. I know nothing about the graco one, though.

We live on a one lane (if you can call it that) back country pot hole infested road. So something with rubber wheels is kind of a must if I want to take it out here and not worry about busting a wheel off a mile from home!

Thanks @lyndseyloveshugh. We want to go with the whole click connect system because you can mix and match strollers and car seats without any adjustments or hassle. A lot of my friends have the Graco systems and swear by them. I just don't know much about this particular stroller. They also don't live on our crappy road so they wouldn't need something with decent wheels.

  • I'm looking at this same travel system (though I'd rather get the red or the green which isn't available at BRU). I'm not a jogger but we love to hike so I'd rather have a stroller that can easily navigate uneven terrain. The one step fold looks very convenient & it should fit in my hatchback wagon. As another FTM though, I'd love more feedback & opinions. Thanks for starting this thread @cakebatter27 - & if anyone has/gets this stroller, let me know how it works for ya! :-)

We have the cheapo babytrend jogging stroller and I still use it for walking and jogging around town with my almost 2 year old. I keep an umbrella stroller in the car for shopping since the jogger is too big and bulky to put in my tiny trunk. Since the jogger was a hand me down I never really shopped for one, but I can tell you that in my experience the jogger is a smoother ride than the graco stroller frame that I used for DD when she was a newborn. (Also a hand me down) Her graco carseat even fit in the babytrend jogger just fine. Plus, it has speakers so I can listen to music while getting my calorie burn on! If you are going to use it, I say buying a jogging stroller is a good idea. Just make sure the front wheel locks. Mine is annoying unless it is locked.

  • We were at BRU today and bought the Baby Trend Expedition ELX Travel System. Just wanted to say they had GREAT deals today. According to my aunt who works for BRU, the best deals to be had are now. This travel system was reg. $349.99 and it was on sale for $199.99
Hopefully, you will find the same deals at your store. I believe the sales ends on Feb 13th. We live in Ontario, not sure if this sale is nationwide. Good luck!

  • If you're worried about the size of the jogger when you're shopping you can always get a Snap 'n Go to keep in your car. Its a lightweight frame that carseat clicks into (Gracco makes one).
I had (still have) a City Mini for around the neighborhood, but mainly used the Snap n Go while DS was in the bucket car seat.
You can get one for between $50-70.

Not that particular stroller but I have Graco Instep Safari and love it! I do feel "real" inflatable wheels are needed for grass/dirt frequently.

Joggers are "heavier" but never an issue, it's a short lift to a trunk/etc. I also think they aren't bad in most stores.

  • Totally have that stroller!!! I got the travel stern from my grandmother when if had DS. Love the stroller it really dies work well on all terrain. My husband plays football baseball and softball as well as coaches so we are constantly on the fields spring dinner and fall. I have the stroller in black too and I really wanted a black stroller the only thing to take into consideration with black (that I didn't realize until I had it) was how hot it got in the summer. Black really taps in the hear so I bought the little clip on fan for DS. He always ran hot to being with so it helped a little.
Best of lunch with the decision

  • Well I took DH and didn't say which one I liked and it was the one he picked! So we ended up getting it. Came with the 35 car seat and base. With the 25% off it came to $247 which about what the red color could cost me at target with the red card discount. Now I want to throw one of the dogs in there and try it out!
