TMI?

sorry if this is gross, but i cant see down there to shave anymore, and i want things lookin good for when DH comes home from deployment im almost 36 weeks, would it be wierd to get a brazillian wax? ive never done it so idk how bad it hurts?

Re: TMI?

  • It would not be weird.  Its actually very commong for wives to get that done before their spouses return from deployment.  I would imagine if you are swollen at all it will hurt worse.  I've never had it done so I cannot speak from experience on the actual waxing.

  • We are about to enter the "is this my vagina snot mucus plug" posts stage on this board I think shaving is mild. I shave still- blindly and slowly but still do and haven't had to go to the ER yet..

Secondly, I'd call around - some places don't do pregnant lady waxes... don't ask me why.  Thirdly, why would it be weird? They see vagina's all day everyday. Lastly, yes it hurts- especially pregnant if your lady bits are swollen, they shall be even MORE swollen.

  • The thought of waxing that area right now makes me cringe. I think shaving blindly or in front of the bathroom mirror is a better option.

  • I still shave blindly and the man says I'm pretty darn good at it.

  • I'm part of the shaving blindly camp, as well.  Afterwards I take a mirror to check-if I've missed anything, I clean it up the next day.  Just go slow, and I recommend the razors that have the little wires that go over the blades for extra protection.

  • The only time I've ever been waxed was when I was pregnant with DD1, and though I have a pretty high pain tolerance, I would discourage you from going that route.  IT HURT LIKE HELL.  Totally not worth it, and your man probably doesn't give a crap.

  • If I wasn't as swollen as I was (and have hems, because yes they go back there too for a braz wax!!!)  I would do it, but I don't want to scare ANYONE.... So I shave and trim the best I can (sitting down on a towel with a mirror.... I have this thing about being all neat and trimmed even if I am NOT getting any action right now :P
  • You can go to Walmart and Meijer (if you  have one) and find a lady electric shaver. I have 2... Because sometimes I am just to lazy and tired and it gets all wild down there when pregnant. The larger one to tame the wild. The smaller one is more like that one you see on TV for trimming neck, nose and whatever hair. A thick marker size with a little comb at the end where the cutter is. This will help get it closer to the skin and into sensitive areas.

From there either leave it (it will not be smooth, just short) OR do what I do and shave blind. If you shave blind, get a good male 3+blade razor. They tend to be smaller than female ones. Use LOTS of whatever you use to shave (soap, shave cream, shave gel) and go slow. Heck, even take 2 days to do it if you want and just do upkeep every other - every 3 days to keep it taken care of.

DH doesn't care as long as it is not a bush. Although I have not been getting any (yes, I went there too) so I kinda let it get out of hand. I am the one who actually prefers it to be shaven. Body hair on women kinda grosses me out. I think it is because my mother never shaves or does upkeep, I have seen her in a swim suit and am traumatized,  and she has facial hair and does not care. Yeah.. eww......

This is me.  I am a waxer and not for my man but because I like it clean and tidy and I am middle eastern and shaving just doesn't do it.. Unfortunately I am swollen with the Hems :( so Wax is a no go for me.. I am a mirror, trimmer, then shower blind shaver and no action for me either! This post is making me depressed!
