News flash snowflake...I'm a FTM too. Doesn't make either of us special. Have you seen the "Ticker Change" threads? This post goes there. If you don't see one for that day, feel free to start one. Then everyone who changes on that day can share in your excitement and share their own as well. Why should anybody here give a crap about your excitement if you don't give enough of a crap to follow basic board etiquette?

PS. You will actually hit "4 months" on Feb 19th (I assume if you're 16w, you're going by Oct 19th).. there aren't 4 weeks in a month (except Feb), it's why 40w = 9 months not 10.

OP, it is not that people here aren't nice and supportive and excited about people's milestones in their pregnancies. The problem is that there are SO many women here, that if everyone starts an entirely new thread every time they hit a milestone, it would be impossible to actually have real conversations about anything else, because you have to dig through everyone's special snowflake posts.

As @salsera29 said, the ticker change posts are the place to post your excitement about the number of weeks you are. There is a time and place for your excitement. It's actually extremely rude to post your own post, because it shows that you only care about yourself and don't value the time of anyone else here.

Wrong. Just wrong! Do yourself a favor and leave! You have to be some kind of low to say something like that. These are real issues that people are dealing with. And let me tell you, if you are faced with a possible birth defect you are gonna want some support, but after this you won't find it here!
I mean seriously, if you don't care about that stuff then you're telling me you would rather read 35,856 posts each day about the mile marker they have made? Seems rather boring and pointless to me!

I'm here for the help, support, entertainment, etc. I don't care anything about reading what point you're at in your pregnancy every single day. That's what a freakin siggy is for!

I don't have a problem with OP, i think we are all excited and some people aren't as familiar with this board as others (myself included), but I find the comment by @princessbumblebee pretty gross. If you don't care about the problems or experiences of other pregnant women with whom you are sharing this experiences, why are you even on here? Heaven forbid you find something to be wrong with your own pregnancy, you would probably want a forum to voice your fears and concerns as well. The snark can rub some people the wrong way, I get that, but your comment will turn off everyone.

You guys are all insinuating that women who have normal pregnancies don't deserve any support. Your pregnancy is only worth something if there's something wrong with it and that's just bs. Youre just as rude if you can't support everyone instead of just people who are having issues. It's not a forum for just risky pregnancies or people with issues during their pregnancies. It's also for people to voice their happiness and excitement over their own. If you can't see that then open up your eyes a bit! How would you feel if your doctor only made time for you if there was something wrong not just to confirm that everything is good and healthy. You would probably come on here and whine about it. So don't put down people who are enjoying their healthy pregnancy.

Umm, there is tons of support for pregnancy positives on this board. The reality is there are more healthy pregnancies with tons of excitement than not and because there are sooo many this board has made a place for posts that are likely to repeat themselves. I think that's the point many ladies are trying to make to you regarding this board but that comment you made really showed some serious ugliness that goes well beyond the snark that often pops up on these boards.

On the contrary. We have posts every single day that celebrate "normal" pregnancies. Most of us fall into that category. Go back and read what you wrote. You DON'T CARE if someone's baby is diagnosed trisomy 18. That's what you wrote. That's fucking messed up. And like the other ladies said, remember this when you need support for something a little more serious than being just one day more pregnant (and that day will come, princess, just you wait). We all certainly will and I guarantee you, you'll get exactly what is coming to you.

I am not one to cuss, but I feel like "what the actual fuck?!" is the only proper response to this.

@princessbumblebee, there really is no coming back from saying something that awful and immature. We are not bitty old snotty women, but a lot of us do expect pregnant women to be mature and respectful enough to follow basic etiquette. It's called being a grown up. If you really are pregnant too, it's time for you to put on some big girl panties and stop acting like a bratty teenager.

And seriously, if all of you "special" ladies would take 10 minutes and actually READ other threads on this board besides your own, you would see that there is plenty of excitement and support for positive pregnancies too. If you want to avoid looking like a total asshole and having everyone jump down your throat, read for a few days before posting.

Hi Hun!! I think it's lovely you feel so good about hitting 16 weeks into your pregnancy. I personally feel like shouting my weekly progress and this is my third pregnancy.lol. Every Wednesday morning me and my partner say oh we are week.. Then look at how big our baby is this week etc. It's our Wednesday ritual. Sad I know to some but oh well!! Enjoy your pregnancy and enjoy counting your weeks. We do!! Xxx
