Hi! I switched to using Nellie's powder soap from the Whole Foods brand. Now when my son's diapers are wet they stink horribly, as if he's pooped but they're just wet. I've read about "stripping" your washing machine or treating cloth diapers periodically, is this necessary or should I just switch to another soap? Do you have to treat them with a special cleaner here and there?
Also- I've been putting my covers in the dryer and just found out that's a no-no, does anyone else use a dryer for covers and have they seen the covers get ruined by this? I'm wondering if I can continue drying or if it's going to mean having to buy new covers eventually.
Sorry for the double question…thanks!
Re: Switched detergents and now diapers smell
Drying covers will just wear them out faster. They can delaminate quicker and the elastic and velcro will wear out faster.
Drying is fine, but will wear them out faster.
