Help! We're going to Vegas in 2 weeks! Yay! I got third dress the other day. I've never bought a long dress before, seems to hippie for me ;-) but, I thought this one looked pretty cute! Anyway, I'm not sure what shoes to wear! Black shoes I assume, but otherwise, I don't know. Suggestions?

I just finished my first week of full-time student teaching. I am so exhausted. My feet and back are suffering the most. Sometimes I feel that I am just not doing a good job teaching because I feel so uncomfortable and frustrated. There are some moments when I really wonder how I am going to be able to finish my certification.

But then I remember how I lucky I am to be pregnant and that baby boy is still in there, moving around and kicking. My symptoms are all part of a normal pregnancy, and I am so grateful for that. All of the strength of the women going through losses and scares inspires me to keep pushing through!

This teaching thing is sucking up so much of my time, I've barely been around. I miss you guys! I'm looking forward to hanging around more in a month or so. For now, I'll catch you on the weekends.

Sad story, sorry guys I really didn't want to make a new thread about it and you don't have to reply but when you are doing your praying or whatever it may be that each of you do, can you please keep my friend in your thoughts. She went for her a/s yesterday for her twins and she had lost one. Not sure why or what happened but I do know she is devestated and on top of everything she has to carry this angel until they can take them both at viability. She has a long hard road ahead and since you ladies are so wonderful I thought maybe you could keep her in your thoughts!

Student teaching is so rough! Especially your first full-time week. The students aren't "yours" and the classroom isn't "yours". You are being judged and evaluated at every turn. It's also hard being on your feet all day - especially being pregnant! Some supportive shoes would help, if you don't have some already. Dansko clogs saved me! You totally have it in you to finish your certification. I know it sounds cheeseball and like a diet commercial, but if I could do it, you can do it! Keep your eye on the prize (both of them!). Once you get your own classroom and established routines you will feel much more comfortable and confident. It takes a while to get there, but it's so worth it! Good luck!

@letsgobowlingx, my baby has no themes. Or colors. Because it's a baby. I just buy stuff that a) it needs, b) I like. Themes are for the parents' enjoyment. If it doesn't give you that, skip it.

Oh, that is sad :-( I can't even imagine.... My thoughts and prayers for your friend and for you as her support. So sorry to hear. H&h rest of the way for her other LO!

@bebemac I definitely have been trying to figure out the shoe thing. I'm interested in Danskos, so I maybe need to cave and give them a try. Do they feel light on your feet? I worry that they are clunky.

@MegK82 I'm hard on myself. Both of my cooperating teachers and university supervisor are not worried about my teaching, just my physical health. It is wonderful to have their support and encouragement. I just have a VERY chatty group so they are definitely draining my energy in classroom management.

@JulieSmiles I'm in a 3rd grade class. The grade level is actually set-up as a specialist model, so they have 2 teachers and move classrooms in the middle of the day. But obviously now it is me teaching all subjects.

@puttyeast They do not feel light and are a bit clunky, but I got used to them. I have a weak ankle due to a bad sprain so I can no longer wear them due to the heel height, because I fall! Maybe see if you can find a used pair on Craigslist? They are definitely feet/back savers once you are used to them.

That's really sad; I will be praying for her! This happened to two friends of mine - if your friend needs someone to talk to about it, let me know. They are very open to sharing their experience if it will help someone else.

I've only tried this with my dogs (not comparing your dd to my dog, but it's all I've got) but when they bit I did a REALLY exaggerated "Ow!!!" And pulled back holding my hand. I think the combination of saying it really loud, like someone just dropped something on your foot, and keeping a really hurt look on your face, maybe walking away for a moment and coming back still sad might convey you're really sad/hurt/upset when bitten and she'll stop seeing it as a joke?

@joules235 From what I've read, kids don't have empathy at that age so "that hurts" isn't supposed to mean anything to them. What worked for us is a strong NO and telling DD the action we want.

For example, DD pinches me. "NO! We need to be gentle with our fingers. Show me gentle hands." Then I would take her hand and lightly pet my arm or face. Now, on the off chance she hits or pinches in a moment of excitement and I say the same thing, she'll do gentle hands without my direction. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks you guys! My friend won't really talk to me about it bc we aren't that close anymore. She is doing really good right now, or at least seems to be. She is tying to focus on the healthy baby girl.

I don't really understand how we're still having SO MANY intros at this point. I mean a bunch of us (ok, a bunch of you salty hoes) are nearing third tri already! I could understand the influx of intros after first tri, since people were afraid of losses or jinxing something by intro'ing early. But at this point we're over halfway done here people. What have they been waiting for? Why are they intro'ing now? Are they just trolls trying to reinvent themselves? Why do I waste so much of my life pondering this??

I haven't Introed myself but I spent the first half of my preg with hyperemesis. After emerging from my puke induced fog I'm finally able to get active. But I'm finding it a hostile atmosphere at times.

Okay, guys. This baby feels huge. A few weeks ago, she felt like a tiny fluttering thing. Now my stomach is moving and she feels way bigger than whatever piece of produce. I feel her in different places at once on opposite sides. It's like a koi pond in there. But there's definitely only one baby.

Is this baby hulking out? Is she giant?

It actually takes a lot for people to throw out the bitch word, so I'm wondering what you did wrong.

If you don't like it here though, there's also baby center and baby baga to check out. Certain sites are better fits than others.

I feel like if this much is happening at 22.5 weeks, she'll pretty much be knocking things off grocery store shelves in the final month.

The other night she was moving so much against the waistband of my pants that the pants were moving. I was like, "Guess I'm just sleeping without pants." Now awesome in Ohio winter.
