I had got seriously sick at around 19 weeks with my first pregnancy, and found out at about 23 weeks that my son had a 'pool' of fluid around his heart. They scanned me about 10 days later and he still had it. They sent me for a scan at the high risk hospital about 3 hours away (they made the appointment for 2 weeks later) when I got to my appointment I was about 28-29 weeks and they said the fluid was within the 'ok range'.. We had that many other problems going on that I think they kind of dismissed it? But he was born perfectly healthy I hope the same for you! And are sending you thoughts and prayers xx
A small amount of fluid around the heart isn't too worrisome, but absolutely worth keeping an eye on. A fetal echo is great for evaluation, and then you might be seen by MFM for following appointments. Good luck!!! Let us know how everything looks with the echo.
I personally don't have experience, but I have a friend due in early March whose baby has the same issue. They are actually delivering the baby today (by c section as not to put more stress on baby's heart) and then will do the surgery to remove the fluid....that being said, if that is your sitaution, then they can peoprobably fix it like they are doing with my friend. Keep your head up.
