Re: FFFC

  • @happylady07 I am having a hard time with dishes lately too.  By the time we finish cooking dinner, all I can think about is bed!  2nd tri starts next week for me, so hopefully I'll be able to do more than just sleep all the time.

  • I really wish we had 2 bathrooms! My husband always seems to need to use the bathroom when I'm about to take a shower or put on makeup or something. And then I have to wait like 20 minutes because I don't want to start gagging while brushing my teeth because of the smell. Luckily he got a new job so next week he'll be out of my hair during the day! ;)

Oh I wish we did too! I have the same issue! He wants to barge in and use the bathroom while I'm showering.

  • I cried a bit when the Seahawks won the Super Bowl!
Woo hoo!  Tears of joy!!! My FFFC is that I skipped half of day of work on Wednesday (valuable vacation time that I should be saving for maternity leave) to go watch the victory parade with my hubs and 700K other people in downtown Seattle to celebrate our team's first Super Bowl Championship! It was completely worth it.  It was an insane party, and it really feels like this championship has exorcised all of our town's historical sports ghosts/ goblins/ demons/ bad luck.
Sorry to hate, actually, no I'm not....but Fuck the Seahawks! My NINERS got robbed of that championship game with shit officiating (some of the worst I have ever seen actually) and I despise the Seahawks and all the bandwagon ass fans even more than I did before!
Not all of us are bandwagon fans. Some of us were born and raised to love them even through the bad years. Just sayin. :)

  • I have a little Italian greyhound her body temperature is pretty high i think because she's so small and has essentially no hair. Anyway I love her but mainly because it's freezing out and she sleeps under the blanket right next to me. She's like a nice heating pad.

I also hate that when I post that I am hungry on Facebook or what kind of dinner I'd like to have suddenly it's linked directly to my pregnancy.

I didn't sleep well at all last night so after work and after I picked DS up from school I let him play video games and I went upstairs and took a nap. He's 7 so he's pretty independent and I also ask him the rules before and what he's to do if something were to happen (he's not allowed to use the microwave and stove, if someone knocks on the door, even if he knows them, he's not to answer it he's to wake me up ect) it was really nice to nap and after about a half an hour I felt so much better.

Oh that would be so hard to deal with. We just bought a house in October and 2 full baths was a MUST. It's so nice to have "my bathroom" and the "boys' bathroom"
It definitely is at times. Were actually thinking about upsizing before the baby. I'm kinda hoping we do, although I love our small house because it's a little neat at least, sometimes. Lol.

  • Im going to a Cage the Elephant concert at the end of April and I know I shouldn't be but I'm a little embarrassed that I'm going. I probably won't tell many people about it especially my husbands family because I don't want them to think I'm "irresponsible" by going to a rock concert at 5 - 6 months pregnant.

Lol we are totally planning to go to Rocklahoma again this year- which is a weekend-long drunken music fest that you camp out at in Pryor, OK. This year there will be no drinking, but we still plan on going and camping

I don't know if this is a FFC but whatevs. I am super pissed at DH. I have told him its not good for me to clean out the cat box anymore and his answer was "we can get rid of your cat then." Seriously?

ETA I see now this is not a confession.

  • I shared a soup recipe with a coworker about a week ago. Yesterday, she made it and brought it in for an office party, and she spent the entire day talking about how great her soup was. People would come up to her and tell her how good it was, and she totally took credit for the entire recipe, even when I was sitting right next to her. Grrr...I'm flattered she like it that much, and that everyone else did too, but is it that difficult to say thanks...and BTW it's Cat's recipe.

Then I feel shallow for even caring.

I'm sure there are "real fans" that actually know the history of their team. Most have no idea who anybody of relevance is that even played for them.

I asked "fans" if they knew who The Boz was, and all I heard were crickets! Lol.

You should stop whining, it perpetuates the "Forty-whiner" stereotype.

Personally, I really enjoy the Hawks-Niners rivalry, and I thought the NFC Championship was a fantastic matchup between two great teams. Bad calls went both ways and didn't wind up being a factor in the end.  Seattle won the turnover battle (4 -1 ) and therefore won the game.

    Guess what... I don't care!

Ummm there were several key calls (and shit ton of holding calls that should have been called against Sherman that weren't) that FOR SURE swayed the direction of the game in favor of the Seahawks and that's fact. I can go into detail if you'd like. I know football VERY well.

I'm very real about admitting when my team sucks, when they played like shit, and know when the refs blatenly fuck up, which they royally fucked up in this game.

I can take a loss when its deserved, but this one was not deserved by any means.

ETA here is a good YouTube video that breaks down a lot of what I am talking about when I say the officiating was bullshit and certainly swayed the game in favor of Seattle.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZWmQgEKDZg&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Without all the help from the "refs" I doubt Seattle would have won. Period. And yes its somewhat biased but there was a lot more to show regarding fuckups from the refs against the Niners then there was against Seattle.

Oh yes, the consipracy video- I've seen it, and I don't think it's accurate to call it "good" analysis. Bleacher Report debunked it; hell, even the CSN Bay Area "49ers Insider" Matt Maiocco calls BS on that video.  Look- I'm not arguing that there were some terrible calls in the game that went against the 49ers.  There were, however, other calls (and lack of calls, ie Jeremy Lane getting clotheslined intentionally by someone on the 49ers sideline) that went against the Hawks. More important and relevant, though, is the damage the 49ers did to themselves during the game.  For example: the personal fowl on Tate that gave the Hawks a first down and half-the-distance to goal; the offsides penalty which essentially gave the Hawks a free try for the touchdown pass to Kearse on 4th and 7; Kaep's poor decision to pass over Chancellor (which he intercepted, and the Hawks capitalized with a f/g, putting us up by 5), and finally another poor decision by Kaep (or more fairly the offensive coord.) to test Sherm on a first down and game deciding situation. All in all both teams played a great game- Kaep had an amazing running game, the defenses both played lights out. In my opinion and many others' it was "a classic game for the ages,"  which either team could have won, but in the end, the Seahawks were able to capitalize on the 49ers'mistakes.

When you claim that it all came down to officiating you're really selling both teams short and cheapening the brilliant way they both played. They are easily the best two teams in the NFL and both deserve recognition as such. Also, they've gotten that good through playing each other  (as well as the rest of the NFC west, the toughest division in football!). Finally: yes, the Niners have 5 Lombardis, but they got their last one 20 YEARS AGO.  Time to move on and better luck next year.

There is some blatant shit in that video and that I personally recall that clearly happened.

I do not negate the fact that there were missed calls on both sides. But explain to me how Russell Wilson does not get a penalty for grounding when he was outside the pocket and threw the ball to NOBODY! explain how a clear touchdown gets reversed? Explain how Lynch gets a first down without even making it to damn line?! Your really going to tell me those calls/lack of calls were legit?!?!?!? Da fauq!!!!!!????? There are oh so may other things and believe you me I rewatched the damn game and while I give it to Seattle for having a great defense, they did NOT play better then the NINERS. The help they received from the refs is what helped them if anything. We both know Wilson and his offense didn't do jack shit the first half.

And I am going to go on a limb here and say that the Niners Panthers game was swayed in favor of the Niners because we all know a Panthers Hawks match up would not have been near as exciting given the rivalry between sf and sea.

I'm on Mobil and you wrote a novel so I can respond to all of it, only what I can remember, but there are other articles I have read that also note shitty officiating aside from the YouTube video. I'll post if I find them.

Kudos to you though for knowing your shit when it comes to sports. Wish there were more chicks out there that are into football and that can hang in a debate :)

ETA: look past the misspelling and shit that might not make sense. Blame autocorrect and use your imagination. My phones dying and I'm not going through my post to change anything.

I've got love for the Pats! A highschool friend #11 plays for them :)
  • aghouston86 I'm not saying any of those calls weren't bad- just that none of them had any real consequence on the outcome of the game.  The called back touchdown didn't matter because the Niners scored on the next play. The Bowman fumble recovery was definitely an awful call, but the Hawks wound up turning it over 2 plays later anyhow without scoring, etc.

Anyhow, the general consensus of every sports writer and most fans outside of the Bay Area is that SF made some critical mistakes that Seattle was able to capitalize on.   No one is saying that this game will be remembered for its controversial officiating, except Niners fans and perhaps a few Niners-biased commentators.

Re knowing football and sports:  Thank you.  I hope this makes you rethink your opinion of at least some Hawks fans.  You'd be surprised about how awesome most of us are ;-).  Case in point (I really think this is very cool!):  https://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000324584/article/seahawks-fans-unite-in-support-of-homeless-49ers-fan-at-parade

Similarly, the fundraising contest between Children's hospitals in SF and Sea was also awesome: https://www.forbes.com/sites/darrenheitner/2014/01/19/outcome-of-49ers-and-seahawks-match-up-is-a-victory-for-childrens-hospitals/
