I lost all the baby weight by 4 months. I weight less now than I did when I got pregnant. My only weight loss "activity" has been breastfeeding. I'm one lucky bitch.
If it makes you feel better, whenever this kid starts weening I'm probably going to balloon up because of it. I've been eating like crap. (says the half eaten box of oreo's under my desk purchased less than 24 hours ago).
I'm not even kidding, I lost all mine a week after having LO. Not that it matters, I had 70 to lose before I even got pregnant. Being back to prepregnancy weight just means I back to being fat without a good reason.
Same here. I was under prepregnancy weight when I left the hospital. But have since gained it back since I wasn't able to continue BF Boo.

I'm with you. I'm 4lbs under my pre-preg weight and it's all been because of pumping. I'm eating an entire box of cheez-its as I write this.
Welp, I am going to use my burning jealousy to motivate my workouts now.
I dropped the pregnancy weight within a couple weeks, now I have to work on the rest of it.
My FFFC: By work on the rest of it I mean sit here and hope it magically goes away because the likelyhood of me going to a gym anytime soon is slim to none.
...and I'm not opposed to waiting. I'm not stopping for any personal appearance issues, just like I didn't decide ebf in hopes to be thinner that I was before I conceived.
With my older DS you did things differently; started cereal and solids a lot earlier than you do now.
I make these decisions with our pediatrician and wouldn't do anything to harm my children.
So your pedi is agreeing with you to give lo cow's milk at 10 months? Just because you did something back when your other LO was little, doesn't mean that's how things work now. There's been research and changing in guidelines for reasons not just shits and giggles. That's the same attitude as a lot of our parents have "well, we did that with you when you were a baby!" Times have changed.
I know this is mostly my own fault, but I feel like a less interesting person with fewer things to talk about now that I'm a SAHM. I love being a mom and 90% of the time love staying home (and feel very fortunate we're able to swing it financially), but I'm finding that I really miss the adult interaction and intellectual stimulation and conversations that come with having a career.

Amen!! I fit into my pre-preg clothes (well, not most tops thanks to BF boobs) but I still have a pudge I want to get rid of. I'm going to continue praying it disappears on its own because right now I barely have time to shower during the week, much less work out.
I did tell myself that once I wean at about a year I'm getting a gym membership again. I used to go before work but now that's impossible because I need every precious hour of sleep I can get.
I go back all day during HDBD to see how many love it's dd gets. If I see you loved the one before her and after her and not her, I hate you for the day and won't love anything else you do that day. Because I'm passive aggressive like that. How could you not love all the babies??
I just want to say that I try to "love" every babe on HDBD. If I missed "loving" any of your little ones, 'twas not on purpose. Even if I don't like you, that's not your cute baby's fault.

I thought with me EBF I would lose weight quickly, but nope!!! I workout and eat healthy and still not weight loss.
My fffc is I'm so over how huge my boobs are (36dd, I used to be 32b) I'm excited to start introducing cows milk! Only about 4 more months to go!!!
When do you plan on introducing cows milk?
Not until about 9-10 months. I will be adding an ounce or so to his breast milk.
I also did this with my now 12 y/o but instead of breast milk I did formula.
I guess the potential for your child to get iron deficient anemia and his increased chances at cows milk protein allergies don't mean as much to you as your boob size. You're an idiot.
I heard that dancers make crazy money.... I have to admit, I am jealous of their confidence. I could never get on stage and strip in front of people let alone my own husband.
I was smaller than my pre-pregnancy weight after delivery. I lost 12lbs in my first trimester since I was so sick. I ended up gaining only 10lbs (over "official" pre-preg weight) but I have GAINED since delivery and am now back at my heaviest. Hmph.
My FFFC is I KNOW I've done things with Jack that you aren't supposed to do. A little taste of popsicle, ice cream, etc. and EVERY mother I know has done the same. It's not a matter of opinion that we don't think our babies should have cow's milk before they are 1. The way she stated her original FFFC was that she doesn't like the size of her boobs so she can't wait to start using cow's milk. A baby under a year should be still receiving nutrients mainly from BM/formula. With that being said, her boobs would still be "too big", which leads us to imply that she would be giving only cow's milk. She then said that she would be adding it to her breast milk, which would still mean she has big boobs so that was a back pedal of a statement, IMO.
I am not a perfect mom, nor do I pretend to be. None of us are perfect. But, I definitely will not be giving my child cow's milk until she is old enough and developed enough to not cause issues that could be life-long problems.
From Kellymom-
"The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends NO cow’s milk until after the first birthday. Babies who are exposed to cow’s milk before their first birthday are more likely to be anemic, have diarrhea or vomiting, and/or experience an allergic reaction (the proteins in milk are more numerous than those in other milk products, such as the yogurt). The excessive protein load in cow’s milk can also overload a baby’s kidneys. It is deficient in vitamins C, E, and copper. It is harder to digest as well, often causing intestinal blood loss. A number of studies have also indicated that early introduction of cow’s milk may contribute to the development of Insulin-Dependent Diabetes Mellitus."

Weight loss confessions make me stabby. Sorry, not sorry.
Exactly why I only mentioned it in FFFC.
Nothing personal.
Didn't take it personal, I just know that it's a bitch of a topic. Nothing pleasant about it, felt like a bitch just writing it.
Def not a bitch. I wish it was like it was with my first baby and everything just came off and I never had to do anything or diet. By 6 weeks pp I was back to pre baby weight even after gaining over 60. All those people that told me it'd eventually catch up with me weren't lying.

But a baby shouldn't have cows milk because their GI system isn't mature enough to handle breaking down the proteins. This isn't a debatable parenting decision like FFvsBF or cloth vs disposable. This isn't a "to each their own" topic. It's science and medicine and is rooted in fact. Read a book.
I get extremely annoyed when I hear SAHM say their baby didn't STTN, so they can't wait to be able to take a nap later. I always want to reply, "Good for you, but some of us don't have the luxury of taking a nap later. I still have to go to work at the same time, stay awake, and perform my job, whether the baby STTN or not. Stop your whining."
The complaints about the baby waking up don't bother me, it's the complaints followed by the nap comment. Maybe I'm just jealous. I want a nap, too :-(

When I hear this I think "WTF am I doing wrong bc I don't have time to nap, ever"

I've read books, thanks. Like I just posted, instead of calling her an idiot, tell her the supporting info on WHY it's bad.
I did.
And I shouldn't have to tell her. She's personally responsible for the health of her own child and, evidently, doesn't care enough or have the brains to 1. ask her pedi if this is a good idea 2. google that shit and make sure it's ok

Exactly! I'm over here like " what's a nap? " i must be doing this SAHM thing wrong.
Oh I know everyone doesn't get a nap. I was a SAHM for 2 years, and naps were few and far between. Some people are able to nap sometimes though, so those are the comments I'm referring to.

Yeah Y'all, we misunderstood when she said she can't wait to switch to cows milk at 9-10 months because she wants her boobs to get smaller. She also definitely didn't say that she was going to do it because its what she did with her 12 year old and shes juust fine.
my FFFC- we are moving back to our hometown in a few weeks after having lived where we are now for about a year. it has been the hardest transition for me (living away from "home"), but the best thing that i can say about living here is that i was able to start a small little business doing something i really like doing AND i met @bellaoso. she has been on vacation, so i havent had the chance to tell her that we are moving yet, and it makes me so sad. we didnt get to hang out all the time, but she turned out to be a really great person, and i will miss her and her girls tremendously. i really feel like i made a lifelong friend with her, no matter how far apart we live. THANKS TB!
@danal613- please point me to where I misunderstood. I'm pretty sure I interpreted exactly what you said.
And you're welcome for my concern.
ETA-
No, you did not say you would speak to your ped. This statement makes it seem like your ped supports your decision to use cow's milk as make is present term. This is what you said-
"I make these decisions with our pediatrician and wouldn't do anything to harm my children."
Also, how did I misunderstand? --->
Wildrumpus: So you're introducing milk to an EBF baby before the recommended one year (minimum!) because you don't like the size of your boobs? Alright then.
Danal613- "That's was exactly what I said."
But then you say that you're not stopping for "personal appearance reasons" even though you just stated above that you want your boobs to be smaller, which is a personal reason.
"...and I'm not opposed to waiting. I'm not stopping for any personal appearance issues, just like I didn't decide ebf in hopes to be thinner that I was before I conceived."

On the topic of pp bodies, I checked my naked self out in the mirror for about 10 minutes last night. Things are looking pretty good!
I'm still 8-9 lbs above pre-preg weight, but I was a skinny girl with a tiny waist pre-baby, and I don't think I'll ever be back in a 0/2, but I was happy to see my waist again! I gained about 50 lbs during pregnancy.
I have also done nothing to lose weight, except EBF. Due to reading these comments, I am now scared I will gain it all back when I stop nursing.

I think she thinks she can stop nursing or FF at around 10 months and just give cow's milk instead. WTF.
One of our friend's LO has been in the PICU. I've been watching their toddler in addition to a little girl they watch. The three toddlers just went down for a nap and I soooo want a drink.
I wouldn't actually
1) drink at 2 in the afternoon
2) drink alone with my own children in the house, let alone some else's or
3) drink before going to practice (at 4 this afternoon) so I ate a package of Swiss Cake rolls. Now I think I'm going to eat some french fries dipped in mayo. (I've been reading even if I haven't had time to post!)
We're supposed to go to DH's grandparents for dinner tonight. I might skip so I can come home and have a drink that much sooner.

I would definitely have a drink, or three. It's really nice of you to help that family out, props to you! I'm sending you an internet margarita (or just tequila)!
This morning I filled the water table with shaving cream. That kept them busy for an insane amount of time. I dumped the mess in the downstairs shower and may just leave it there for DH to deal with.

Cream soda, coffee/kahlua, Irish cream, creme de mint... You could make a blended drink with cream soda, chocolate vodka and strawberries. It'd probably be good in a shot with rumchata!

I did tell myself that once I wean at about a year I'm getting a gym membership again. I used to go before work but now that's impossible because I need every precious hour of sleep I can get.
