  • Piggybacking on PPs: I don't do politics. I educate myself before elections and I vote (if I feel strongly enough for one party), but I don't have a party affiliation, I don't watch debates, I probably can't even tell you what countries we have troops in right now.

But on the otherhand, I don't bitch about things. I don't properly educate myself so therefore I don't feel like I have the right to complain.

    I know, I know, I am a terrible American.

One does not get through a Northern Minnesota winter without Uggs.
Ugg boots are not a winter boot. As someone who lives in a place with a very heavy winter. Ugg boots are not water proof and they don't not keep your feet warm enough for seriously cold winter.
Ha!  Cuz in northern MN I'm sure she isn't familiar with a very heavy winter????  I want Uggs for INSIDE the house.

I'm wearing the cheap off brand version. I'd like a head to toe outfit composed of the warm lining in the boots. Someone should design that.

    Patent pending.

  • I confess I had a 15 year old client tell me where he stashes the pot in his bedroom so his mom won't find it - she thinks he doesn't do it anymore.   Dude, don't tell me this stuff when i do your mom's hair too.  :/

I don't think indifference equates bad American. The ability to be apathetic is one of the things that is distinctly American, I think. Being a bad American is when one spews opinions with no facts or even worse, passing off opinions as facts. That burns me up.

  • I have one and I hope it doesn't start the shitstorm that my UO did yesterday but here goes... A girl that I know that is 19-20 told me that she's pregnant and I didn't know how to respond. I asked her how she feels and tried to gauge my response to that but inside I kept feeling like she's going to make her life so hard. She has a very supportive family and she is really smart and hard working so that may not even be true, but I felt like a total Judy Judgment.
The great thing about the human race is that we can endure. You say she is smart and hard working, she will be a fine mother. She will fall at some points, we all do. At least she has a supporting family beside her to help her back up when she needs it. I know both great and not so great 19 year old moms. I tend not to judge people based on their age, but by their actions. If she was the party type, I might be a bit judge-y.

Maybe he secretly hopes you will tell her?

I'm considering getting pregnant again against Dr orders. I ran the idea by my mom and she totally flipped out on me. So if I do get pregnant again I plan on hiding it from her and everyone so they don't judge me.

  • I don't wear Uggs out in the snow all day, silly. I wear Ugg slippers at home and Ugg boots anywhere else. If I wore Sorels all day at school, I'd look even more ridiculous. If I wear regular shoes, I'd be freezing. I work in a school where the heat barely works some days. I do have some Toms Nepal boots that are cuter, but they aren't as warm, and they only match a couple of my outfits.

  • I confess that I've been mega stressed at work (I work in public assistance, and the ACA is mf 'ing nightmare). I've totally been taking it out on my husband, and I've been a giant bitch to him...which has resulted in a MEGA blow out fight over something stupid.

But I'm stubborn, and don't want to admit I'm wrong.

  • @pinottoparenthood They are! I found a group that specifically says SAHM ONLY. Wtf? And you have to pay to be in it. I'm kind of picturing a 1950's tuppeware party. I am a SAHM now but I don't really want to be. When the weather gets better I think parks will be a great place to go and meet people.

  • I confess I don't have FB and have no idea what this movie thing is. And I am insanely jealous of you pregnant ladies, but at the same time couldn't imagine being pregnant again right now. Oh, and I got that nasty puking virus for the second time in two weeks. I definitely did not make it in time and puked ALL OVER the bathroom. DH cleaned it up. I feel really bad, but I totally let him even though I know how much he hates puke. TMI sorry.

I have a new one. I was all set to go to a chinese buffet near my house for lunch (I'm WFH today), because I've been majorly craving egg rolls, and then I just read an article about CostCo and it had a picture of one of their slices of pizza, and now that's all I can think about... would it be wrong of me to eat BOTH?  The baby made me do it.

It would be wrong to deny your baby what he/she so desperately needs :)  And that is both!

I managed to stop after Chinese food --which wasn't very good. Disappointing. Pizza tomorrow maybe.

  • @Erin10408 I'm right there with you sister. I work in Health Benefits for small groups and I've gotten a migraine three times in the past two weeks from the stress. We're all trying out damnedest to keep out heads above water but everything keeps changing.

  • @Jordynleighx3 - Did you draw that? If so I'm pretty impressed!

@smiles21866 - I totally agree! I've had surgery 3x and have always been excited for that brief time between when they administer anesthesia and when you go to sleep. Best. Feeling. Ever. I guess it's to make up for how much it hurts when you wake up. Good luck with your procedure!
Haha! It's a fabulous feeling! For some reason I always think that I'm super woman and I try to fight it. HAHA that never works out. Thank you! Hopefully it's a quick and painless procedure!
  • @tondraluv...I straight up cried at my desk last week. Im in MN, and we have a new computer system(MNSure) for the new healthcare. The system is total crap, no one knows how to fix any of the issues, and clients are pissed. It's awful

I'm sorry you are in the crappy spot of having such awful choices. Be safe for your little man though!

Ugh, DH was consulting for BCBS helping to implement their portion of this.  Said it was a mess.

    I prefer Pickles and Doritos
  • I confess that my period was way late this month and thought I might be pregnant and was not happy.  I'm not ready yet and it is all because of insurance. I want to wait till later this year so that the next one is born at the beginning of next year...then we hit the deductible right away and everything is covered all next year. (we have a high deductible plan so once it is met, it is all covered by insurance) That is a terrible reason to not want to be pregnant.

  • I also confess this is what Maddie's headband drawer looked like before I organized it on Monday.

We also have a problem I counted 55 bows the other day and some headbands. And she needs another bow because I mean we need one with hearts for valentines day!
