Last week Updates:

Congratulations to alphaphi98 on the birth of her son Cameron Mars Johnson at 37 weeks!!! He weighed 6lbs. 9oz. and was 20 inches long. Mom says it was a quick 4 hour labor and natural med free delivery. Mom and baby are scheduled to go home today!

Welcome BLPL101 (Laura) to the group! She is planning on TTC in the summer  and her DD Caroline was born at 35 weeks due to PPROM.

rslhmg: was having abdominal pain and admitted to the hospital also due to LO's heartrate plummeting several times; after several tests, it was attributed to dehydration and she was given an IV-luckily pain stopped and baby's heart rate stabilized. Re: Pregnant & TTC After A Preemie 2/07/14

  • I got a few of those 44oz cups from the gas station, only thing bigger the stores around here had was a thermos. I have been drinking as many of those as I can (I'm ready to move into the bathroom lol). It appears to be helping, lo has more fluid to swim around in, I was on the low end of normal at the hospital, and yesterday I was back to where it really needs to be. We started weekly monitoring a couple weeks early because of the dehydration problems since I have no other way of knowing if I'm absorbing enough of the fluids, fingers are crossed!

  • Saw my OB today; everything looks good with baby girl! But he still thinks I won't make it to 39 weeks (I am having a RCS so we would schedule it then). So that freaked me out a little. I am 22.5 weeks so if I can just get to 24 I'll feel better about her chances, but at the same time he doesn't know when I will deliver, only that he is pretty sure I'll be early, so I think I am going to drive myself insane by wondering every day if this is the day.

DS is almost one and I am having some major flashbacks to his birth! Which isn't related to this pregnancy but it's driving me batty. Can't I just take a nap till June?

  • @flerlgirl Have you decided on a name? How's your BP?

  • @ktz17, we decided on Jenna Paige for our sweet girl! BP was fine at the most recent appointment. It was all over the place for a few weeks but for now it is being a benevolent dictator :) Thanks for asking!

  • @flergirl That's a beautiful name! Glad your BP has settled down. You're so close to 24 weeks! I think next time we'll celebrate that milestone. Last time I was like eh, whatevs.

  • @ktz17 - thank you! I think it already suits her :) And same here; with DS people kept making a big deal about viability day and I was like whaaa? But this time I will celebrate! And I'll be stalking you to find out when you're KU again so I can celebrate yours, too!

  • @flerlgirl unless we get surprised, it won't be for a while!! I haven't gone back to work yet so I have to do that before we an afford another one. Hadn't planned on using formula (thanks, hospital for not letting me pump for 24+ hours after the csection!). I didnt think I'd mind using hand me downs from my nephew but girl clothes are so cute!

@ktz17 - I gotcha! We're very excited about our new one but I'm not gonna lie; she wasn't exactly in our plan for 2014 :) Girl clothes ARE cute - have you tried consignment shops or garage sales for some good deals? I am all about a bargain.

edit: that stinks about not being able to pump :/ Same thing happened for us... for what we've spent in formula I bet you and I could both buy a car! Or at least a really shiny bike.

  • 30 weeks now and BP is still good!

Hoping to switch doctors (again) because I wasn't satisfied with my chances at VBAC with the first one I switched to after the move. She also hit me with the doom and gloom speech about uterine rupture right off the bat and made it sound like she had to "warn" her partners they were dealing with a potential VBAC. I wasn't pleased.

Aiming for a major hospital about 1.5 hours away from here. Requested my original practice to fax my records over to the new practice this week because I can't make an appointment until the doctors look over my records and approve of taking me on (standard protocol for a transfer). FX that me being 30 weeks and higher risk due to previous pre-e doesn't scare them off! (Hopefully not since they make a big deal on their website about including high risk care and having a Level III NICU!)

  • @bluebird2318, your description made me laugh! "WE GOT OURSELVES A VBAC OVER HERE." I hope your new doctor is more willing to work with you to give you the experience you want!

@flerlgirl Haha, yes! I have some nerve wanting to go all caveman and use my vagina for delivery! ;) I understand they have to warn me of the risks, but my old OB practice was nothing like that. I've never felt so awkward at a doctor visit!
