  • I missed my DH like crazy this week, but now that he's home, I really just want the bed to myself again. I'm having some insomnia probs with this pregnancy (figures - when I need to be awake, I'm dead tired, but at night I can't turn off my brain), and I woke up like 4 times last ngiht and this morning because he wanted to paw at me; finally I just got up.

On the upside, I cleaned out the fridge, did the dishes, and ordered groceries for delivery already, all before 6 AM.  Now I need to pre-clean for the cleaners, because holy hell, this place looks like a bomb went off in it.

  • TMI alert: I think my internal anatomy is messed up from pregnancy. Now if my bladder is full, it puts pressure on a certain bundle of nerves. It's really uncomfortable. It's like an intense pressure to pee and get laid all at once.

I have a procedure next week that requires being put under general anesthesia. As scared as some are to be put under, I love it. Best.sleep.ever. (Falling asleep part is) not so much waking up :)

What if it clips into the top part of the cart? Better than loose in the big part of the cart with the baby sliding around? I didn't really ever use the car seat in carts when I had that car seat cause I just took my daughter out and put her in a carrier anyways (safer all around) :)
That actually wears down the clips that latch on to the base, if you use one.

  • For breakfast I am eating carrot cake with what looks like a half inch of cream cheese icing deliciousness on top.

I finished the last episode of SOA and feel like I need therapy. So sad.

On a more serious note Torrin isn't socialized enough. We did baby music class yesterday. The class was nice and I loved the teacher but he wouldn't sit and play music with the other babies. I was chasing him around the room and it got to the point where if I held him he started playing limp spaghetti to get away. She even asked if I stayed at home with him a lot :(. I don't really it's just that he can't get down and crawl around or socialize at most of the places we go. I don't know where he could. I only know one other baby his age and we have oposing schedules so don't get to see them as often as I'd like. I'm planning on taking him twice a week.

Do you have an indoor play space around? In this Winter Which Shall Never End, my lifeline has been play dates and indoor play areas. I go for Ava, but Mila LOVES them and really exploring now. Also, did you meet any other parents or caregivers at the class that you "clicked" with to see if you can set up a play date with any of them? That's how I met some of my earliest parent friends!

  • I confess that I got DD dressed today solely based on what outfit would match her clean socks.... This while all of her white (match all) clean socks have been sitting in the dryer since Tuesday.

I also confess that I feel like my DD is never going to move :(  10 months - no crawling, no pulling herself up, no cruising, etc. While I suppose it's nice to not have to baby proof the house.... I worry:( I may not feel as bad about this if I didn't drop her off at daycare every morning and see all of her "friends" doing all of these things.

  • I have another one as well.

If I did not have a recycling program offered through my town there is no way in hel!  would recycle. That being said, I have a garbage can under my sink for recyclables. And when it fills up I don't empty it as often as the garbage, so I tend to throw away recyclables beacuse it's full. I guess I am an earth killer to some extent.

I'm a little nervous about this as well.  Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the non-moving baby, but it is somewhat concerning to me that he isn't crawling.  He gets around -- scoots and rolls like a champ, and he will get up on all fours and rock, but can't figure out how to move forward.

That is kind of what this place is, they have play areas for every age plus classes so I'm really excited. The only other places we have are jumping trampoline places and chuckee cheese. I thought chuckee cheese used to have more stuff for toddlers like a ball pit and things but I was really disappointed. We will see, I will try to make friends. I feel like I'm going back to school.

@smiles21866 - I totally agree! I've had surgery 3x and have always been excited for that brief time between when they administer anesthesia and when you go to sleep. Best. Feeling. Ever. I guess it's to make up for how much it hurts when you wake up. Good luck with your procedure!

@mommymorticia that finale of SOA left me depressed like seriously, so sad.

I guess my confession is; I have an ex that plays professional baseball. When my husband and I are going through it I google him and think about what could've been.
Don't. H and I have both worked in professional sports and between the two of us we have met ONE athlete who we didn't have actual confirmation was cheating on his wife/girlfriend. And maybe he was just too smart to get caught.

Is he pulling himself up? I've given up on the crawling. DH never crawled and Id id not do it until 11 months. Even though our pedi told us this didn't mean anything with LO - I feel like it does. He also told us pulling up doesn't start until 10-12 months, so really I shouldn't be worried at this point, but I can't help it. LO is tiny and I feel like it's lack of strength that is keeping her from doing these things...

He's not pulling up, but he loves STANDING up if somebody puts him in that position and either holds his hands / hips, or helps him hold himself up (ie, edge of table or sofa).  The doctor isn't concerned about any of it, but I can't help worrying.  However, he's modified his abilities to get where he wants to go - yesterday when I walked into daycare, he was laying on the play mat, and did a quick triple roll to get over ot me, which was hilarious.  Ha.

My confession is that I sometimes feel like having a baby made me dumber.  I feel like it hurts my brain sometimes to think of anything non-baby related.  This does not translate well to my career.  And I feel like my posts sometimes make me sound like a complete airhead because I fail to have strong opinions on topics like politics.  (I'm with @rgrundon I hate politics).  But I swear I'm intelligent!  I have a great career, an MBA, and a photographic memory.  My brain just doesn't focus on the same stuff anymore.
I feel like this all the time.  Not only am I dumber, but i honestly don't have the mental energy to care about a lot of the stuff I used to care about -- ie, not as good at my job, and don't have it in me to argue about shit.  I told my boss that I need a role that is less strategy and more execution, because i don't want to THINK, I just want to DO.... all my strategizing is done at home, lately.  Unfortunately, they don't pay me to execute.

Ha.
This is LO as well. If you help her stand she lights up like a Christmas tree. And she seems to get where/what she wants - by spinning and doing a modified scoot.  So I suppose as long as their needs are met we should not worry?!?!?!
Let's just assume they are clearly entrepreneurial and resourceful and creative for figuring out a non-traditional way to meet their own needs!  :-)

LO was this way too and then I looked up one day and she was crawling. I had no indications she was even working on it then she did it.  I figured she was going to be one of those babies that doesn't.  She still doesn't pull up..she pulls to her knees then stops before getting to her feet. But she is little so I am thinking she is not strong enough.

  • I have one and I hope it doesn't start the shitstorm that my UO did yesterday but here goes... A girl that I know that is 19-20 told me that she's pregnant and I didn't know how to respond. I asked her how she feels and tried to gauge my response to that but inside I kept feeling like she's going to make her life so hard. She has a very supportive family and she is really smart and hard working so that may not even be true, but I felt like a total Judy Judgment.
