Working Moms

I feel like a bad mom...

I just had to call my sitter to find out my childs sleep schedual.  Over the weekend I realised how tierd dd is.  I had to put her to bed early last night.  She has not gotten enough sleep...Am I a bad mother?  Has anyone else had this problem?

Re: I feel like a bad mom...

  • Babies tend to make their own schedules- I was constantly checking w/ the DCP when DD was an infant. I think it makes you a good mom that you're concerned about the sleep she's getting. As they get older and especially as they start to drop that morning nap, their schedules change. GL, I would just keep in touch w/ your sitter so you're aware of what your DD is doing. And don't feel bad if you're putting her down early, since you're giving her the sleep she needs.

  • God NO! My husband and I do whatever our daycare provider tells us to. Get rid of bottles? Check. Nap at noon? Check. It makes life easier!
  • Daycare writes down her nap times everyday and it's so helpful.  If she doesn't have a good nap then I know we need to go to bed earlier.

Ditto!  Eliza is my baby and I make the decisions, but the women at daycare (the ones I would listen to anyway) have years more experience with kids, and spend so much time with DD they know her as well as we do.

  • You're not a bad mom!  I call my sister for the same reason.  Although, DD never naps for us the same she does for her, I try hard to keep it the same.

Ditto.  It's also helpful to have these sheets if someone else has to keep DC for a day so they can know times.

My sitter's sheet also has feeding times and what she ate.
