I am so glad you asked this, Steph. I asked the same question on the miscarriage board (because I too was uncomfortable asking on TTCAL) but have gotten way less answers than you did here.

The bolded above gave me a much needed giggle though. That's exactly how I feel.

I asked for you, too, SNLT. By the way ladies, we are getting tattoos of our babies footprints next Saturday. Yep, we have a tattoo date in different states. And this has been the most exciting thing in the past week.

I am so sorry for your loss. My heart breaks for you. No one should have to go through this. It is also hard to persevere after a loss. There is so many things swimming around in your head including many fears about the future. Always think in terms of odds. You are more likely to carry the next baby to term then to experience another loss. You are more likely to have a successful pregnancy then not. I had one miscarriage before DS1, 3 before DS2, 3 before DS3 and 1 before these babies. I am glad that I pushed forward even though I wanted to stop trying because TTCAL is very emotionally and physically difficult, but the joy of welcoming a miracle makes all the pain and worry worth it. The preliminary thought is it was chorioanmionitis. No symptoms that you have the infection until it is too late. It is supposedly caused by bacteria that is naturally in the vagina that makes it's way to the uterus. It begins to attack the amniotic sack and weakens it causing labor. I was treated with antibiotics and delivery is the natural cure. Check and check. It's said to be a freak accident and not to happen again, but who can trust those odds?

I may have mentioned in a previous FFFC thread that I dislike 99% of tattoos. These tats will fall into that 1% that make the cut.

We needed ivf to get pregnant and after each loss we waited about two months. I think that was more protocol though with the group we used. So I would think you could naturally do it by then as well.

I just want to say that I'm thinking of you and so hoping that you get a sticky babe soon! I would LOVE to see a positive test result from you and all our other loss ladies who are trying so keep coming back forever and always.

Also- the tattoo idea is beautiful.

My loss was a blighted ovum discovered at 10 1/2 weeks, I had a D&C Aug. 2013. Dr. told me to wait one period to start trying again (said she thought the old 3 month rule was outdated). Had a period Sept 2013, BFP Oct. 2013. This pregnancy has been thankfully uneventful, I'm 21 weeks tomorrow. It's so hard after a loss it seems like there are pregnant women and babies ev.ery.where. Praying for you!!

Love the tattoo idea, what a great way to memorialize your baby

I miscarried at about 6w and was told one full cycle before trying again. After about one year of very irregular cycles (about 3 in the year), I had to go back on the pill. After three months I went off and BFP the first cycle off. Dr said I needed to be 'rebooted' lol. Good luck with everything! I hope you have your beautiful rainbow baby soon!!
