@ugabamafans Find one and go! I was skeptical but it helped my back pain so much, I barely have any. It's amazing - I have always had back pain. And he helped minimize my RLP.
So I had my appointment today, but when I got to the office the doctors assistant said no u/s was going to be done, that it was a normal check up appointment. She checked my weight, blood pressure and then the doctor came. We listened to the baby's heart (rate is 142), he said everything seems fine and that's it. So I asked him about the scan and he said I have to wait until I'm 23 weeks which made me a little unsure because I'm at 20 weeks and I've read that's the right time to get it done. He also told me it's too early to find out the sex of the baby. Does this sounds weird?
^ yes @MrsAy, that does seem strange. I'm pretty sure 20 weeks in not too early to find out the sex. We found out at 15 weeks... 20 weeks is standard for an A/S.
That's what I thought, I'm most worried about the a/s than about finding out the sex of the baby. I think I'm gonna call the office tomorrow and talk to the office manager to make sure this is right, she wasn't there today.
@mrsay, anatomy scans are typically done between 18-22 weeks. I don't think doing it the 23rd week will make a difference. They start plumping up with fat AFTER the 23rd week.
Had our AS today--found out we will be having a baby BOY!! Hubbs teared up when she told us time to start looking for "handsome like daddy" onesies
We get to go back in 2 weeks to see our little Sawyer Michael again since he was not cooperating to get a few additional photos.. Oh darn I can't wait to see him wiggling around again!! Crazy to see something like that when I *think* I've only felt him move once and that was only last night.
Thankfully, everything looked healthy on ours a/s, and we are having a GIRL! When I showed my ultrasound pic around, someone told me the crotch shot was taken from too far behind the buttocks. What do you think, am I safe to buy pink?? I'm pretty sure 3 lines = girl, right?
Saw my OB for my 20 week appointment even though I am 21 weeks tomorrow. But he said I will start next week on weekly progesterone shots to be proactive to any preterm labor issues that may arise. I will also start next month and be seen by the high risk group in the practice until I deliver.
I had a regular appointment (22w5d). It went well and the heartbeat is still in the 150's. I am up 21 pounds. Um, yeah. I guess I should start eating a bit better and exercising!
So yesterday I had my A/S and we found out we're having a boy and was told everything looked good but I need to go back in 4 weeks because they didn't get all of the pictures that they needed of the heart primarily because he was super comfy and wouldn't move around, and TODAY I went back for my 20 week pre-natal. The midwife I saw today mentioned how they weren't able to get all the pictures they needed and mentioned something about the organs not looking quite right or something. I was like what? Why didn't they tell me this yesterday? She was like oh it's nothing to worry about, they will check it again in a month and get better pictures, but don't stress about it.
Did the midwife just not choose the right words when she said what she said? I would have thought that when the doctor came in after he reviewed the pictures yesterday he would have mentioned something, but like I said he said everything looked good.
I'm not stressing honestly, I'm just more irritated with this particular midwife.

We had a super awesome great A/S scan yesterday. Bub is all well, very photogenic, and a boy! He does have a HUGE head though (like 99% percentile) so I'm a bit nervous about that
Glad to hear lots of good news from everyone today!
Update: Scan went well. I actually almost fell asleep because it was so relaxing in there! Doctor is a little concerned about my placental placement, so I have to do another scan in 4 weeks. She also wants to check baby's heart in detail, because this is an IVF pregnancy and it's her policy to do so. We also couldn't get a good profile, because not only was baby boy squirmy, he was in a little ball at the very bottom of my uterus. But, overall it was a good appointment! My son looks beautiful and happy, sucking his thumb and kicking away.
Unfortunately, all the questions I had for my doctor got no answers I was hoping for. I basically have to live with pain during pregnancy (because of my endometriosis and scarring), my horrible bloody noses are common, and painful sex or no sex are my only options. And she scolded me for not having gained any weight, even though she told me not to gain more than 15lbs! And I have been eating so much I'm sick of food. Blah. As long as baby is healthy, right?!
Had our A/S today 19w4d. We had an elective ultrasound at 16 weeks and they told us girl there but was still a little worried they were wrong. She is definitely a girl though. McKenzie looked happy and healthy. She was active as always but
they got all of the measurements they needed and she is measuring right
on track and is about 11 ounces.

A/S today - everything looked great. We're definitely having a boy. We're very excited! Back in four weeks.. only 2 more 4 week appts and then we are down to every two weeks ladies! Time is flying!
Appointment today.. Recieved follow-up from A/S we had a few weeks ago and baby is growing well. Listened to her heartbeat.. Got a doctors note saying that I need to wear tennis shoes to work and another prescription for Zofran. Fun day!
Had our A/S earlier today. Baby was moving around and waving at us. We found out it's a BOY! We even got a video of him yawning. I will hopefully talk to the doctor in the next couple days after they review the pictures.
Update: Everything was great, everything was normal, healthy and baby is growing like normal! We are waiting until tomorrow to find out what we're having with the rest of our family!!

Try not to stress. I don't know why they would tell you two different things, but hopefully you can get some answers at your next scan. FX it's nothing!
