My mom loved to remind me that I was conceived in a hammock at their first apartment we occasionally passed, every time we passed it.

My friend's mom always told her she was conceived on the beach at a bonfire lol.

Anyone have any fun conception stories you can torture your kids with in the future?

My mother had a sweatshirt with a Hershey kiss in a bassinet that said "it all started with a kiss" because I was apparently conceived at Hershey Park.

Our story is sort of boring... my best friend and her husband were coming to stay with us, and I knew that night was my last chance to "get some" before DH's next day off almost a week later. And I just happened to be ovulating.

ETA: DH also made a crack afterward about "there's your baby" or something like that... which turned out to be really funny a few weeks later.

Hmm, my mom has never told me the story. My MIL, however, told me that my brother in law was conceived on their deck outside. She also told me my other brother in law was a birth control baby. DH didn't like to hear the story.

DS was conceived during a round of antibiotics that (SHOCKER) interfere with birth control!! DH and I had only been dating for 6 months. Well, we are married now and all is well, but it's far from a fairy tale story!

This LO was a succesful chart baby! I started charting and temping in July, and found out in October we were expecting.

DH and I were planning on this LO. We've been together for 8 year but we knew we wanted to have our first baby at 30. We have always had a very healthy sex life so after going off of birth control and having sex as frequently as we do, I was pregnant after 3-4 months.

I don't know what conception story to torture our child when it's older…I will have to work on that one.

We went to a wedding and got a room in the bungalo next door to the venue. Booze, dancing and lots and LOTS of sex. It was the dirty kind too... lol.

Man, I wish I had a good conception story.

When I told s/o I was pregnant, he said, "But...we've barely boned." I was like, "Uh...it only takes once babe." Then we finished moving furniture. We are so romantic.

Each baby was planned. Didn't chart but tried to have sex during what I assumed would be my fertile window. Tried for 6 months with DS1, 5 months with DS2 and because pregnant with DS3 1 full cycle after my Mirena was removed. Not real interesting stories.

We were actively trying and it was our 3rd month of trying. That night as I climbed into bed with DH I told him it'd work this time because 3 is our favorite number. Then I made him buy a pregnancy test with me and the checkout guy awkwardly said "good luck" as we were leaving. Not too exciting

My mother will deny this, if ever asked, but my grandmother told me that I was conceived while my brother was in the hospital. I was told he was in a coma (he had spinal meningitis, but the time line confuses me now. I thought that was after I was born. So, it may have been when he had polio. We have "special" immune systems in my family).

So grandma have my parents a night off from the hospital and stayed with my brother. She told them to go get some stress out... Little did they know the additional stress it would cause 9 months later :-D

My kiddo was far less romantic. There was a table and stirrups and another man involved. And not in a kinky way. DH wasn't even in the room with me. He'd done his duty 2 hours earlier and went to work...

Nothing exciting here. We knew we wanted baby #2, I was charting and using OPKs, we DTD consistently for about 2 weeks (before I got the +OPK, and after) just to be sure all possible fertile windows were covered and to, well... get as many of those little swimmers in there as possible to meet the egg when released. And here I am.

The conception of #2 will be more traumatic to my DD than to this LO: my +OPK was on her 3rd birthday. So... Happy Birthday little girl, Mommy & Daddy got you a sibling (you just have to wait about 9 months for present delivery )!

After 7 miscarriages and 10 years of trying, I was the one who stuck for my parents. My sister was a complete surprise 2 years later.

This LO was conceived either on Halloween or November 3 because I o'd on November 2nd. Since I don't know I can't even predict boy or girl based on Shettles! It was late Halloween night so it technically could be o-2 (girl) o-1 or o+1 (boy). I'm excited to find out in a couple weeks.

This is almost my story exactly however I wasn't on antibiotics and I never missed a BC pill. Guess it was supposed to happen!

everything went great and we got most of it into a cup before rushing off to the lab with me warming the cup between my legs.

Two hours later a lovely lady came to let us know that they had gotten the eggs they needed and had picked out the candidates from the cup and we were off to have a fancy lunch

Haha - this is hilarious! And awkward.

DH is fairly convinced it was while on vacation with a bunch of friends/couples this fall - he and I planned the trip, so we had a cabin all to ourselves....

The awkward part was when he told his guy friends that we were pregnant, how far along, etc., and EVERY SINGLE ONE of them counted back by weeks and pointed out that it must have happened on the trip. Sigh. He's very proud of himself.

We had been trying for about a year, and earlier on I had been charting but I started to get too depressed each time my period came. By October (month 13), we were looking into fertility clinics and I was pretty convinced I wasn't going to get pregnant naturally (so impatient, I know!). So it was just an average Saturday morning for us! ;-) I do remember noticing later that day that I was ovulating (based on cervical mucus), and I was surprised because it was early for me (only about a week after my LMP). This is probably TMI but I specifically noticed that it was way more than I'd had before. I remember hopefully thinking, "could this be the time it will work??" A few weeks later, the answer turned out to be yes

With DS, my husband had been working out of town for a full month. I went to visit him for his birthday, was only there a couple of hours and voila!

I don't remember the actual conception of this little one. I had only been off birth control for a couple weeks and DH and I had been very frisky... And here we are. Lol

DH got me a tiny girl Yorkie for our first anniversary. 2 weeks later we got our BFP! We always joke about him giving me a puppy and me giving him a baby in return for our anni.

DH and I were finally taking our belated honeymoon (he is Canadian and we were waiting for his green card so he could get back in the U.S. after our honeymoon). We wanted to start TTC asap, but I didn't want to try before the honeymoon, because I wanted to enjoy all the wine in France (we went to Burgundy during harvest) and Italy. The minute we got to Europe we were ready to start trying (and perfect excuse on our honeymoon). It worked. We don't know if it was in France or Italy, but I think it's pretty cool that LO has already been to at least three countries (Italy, Canada and the U.S.) before entering this world!

One of my best friends told me about charting and temping at my bachelorette dinner party last July. I started doing that the next day. The month after we got married I found out my SIL was expecting twins. I was so upset that my younger brother was on his 4th and 5th child and I was 31 with none. My body is like clockwork and that same night happened to be the day before I should have ovulated. I never told him that though. Somehow I convinced hubby to do me while tears and snot were running down my face. I made sure to put my legs up over the back of the couch after we were done and it worked.

Oh my, isn't this personal

Well....*giggle* I was laying flat on my back and very slowly, DW walked up to me and squirted the man juice into my lady part *giggle giggle*. It was sooo romantic I could hardly stand it. *giggle*

Lol no but seriously, I was talking to DW about having another one close in age to my youngest. DW thought I was nuts at first but, I finally convinced her. It's funny because she surprised me with it one night and was like, "let's make a baby". Yes, my wife surprised me with semen. So, I cried because I was so excited but, we like to actually make love while we do it cuz it feels special to us. So, I got all sexy, we banged like gorillas and she put it in.

Lol did I just share that online? Oh gawd.

@jessa8907 lol I've heard that too many times to count. My mom is a doc and after we talked about it in Sept she told me as long as I'm not standing on my head, it shouldn't hurt the chances. That night I was pretty desperate and emotional, so I figured "why not?"!

I had been told that I would most likely never conceive naturally. So in May, after graduation, I stopped using bc (no insurance and couldn't go to the university clinic anymore). DH and I moved 100 miles away for me to take a teaching job in June. DH got a job back in hometown in September and I started to only see him on weekends. Got KU in mid-late October.... go figure!
I do remember DH saying "You're going to get pregnant just drinking the water here" when we moved due to the many many many pregnant women we saw while apartment hunting.
