DH & I have been discussing where this little guy will be sleeping once he is born.
We can't decide if we are going to have him in our room for a bit in a bassinet or PNP, or put him in his own room right away.
Both of my nieces have been in their own rooms from day one & have done well. I have been doing some research, but haven't really found much useful information.
Was hoping STMs & FTM could share their experience, knowledge, and opinions.

I don't know. DH comes home at midnight, and as careful as he is, it is usually enough to wake me up at night. I had originally thought baby would sleep in a bassinet in our room for a few months, than switch to his crib in his room... then I thought DH coming home late would screw all of our sleep schedules up.
Now after reading that keeping the baby in the room for 6-months lowers the risk of SIDS, I really don't know what to do. There isn't really room for a crib/PNP in our bedroom...

That's what we did for our son and it worked out well.
Now with our new house, it's a fairly long distance between our room and the LOs, so we are thinking of setting up PNP in our room for naps and even sleeping for the first few weeks, and transitioning to crib once he's better at sleeping through (his room borders our 3 year old's room).
We'll just do what's comfortable and go from there, though, really!
MIL was actually a little miffed that I was going to keep him in our room and not the nursery with her. I'm grateful that she's coming and will help extend the time before we have to put him in day care til he's closer to 3 months old...but I'm looking forward to every sleepless night snuggling baby.
That's so sweet that your mom is giving you yours for LO! I'm jealous!

At 5 months we tried him in his own crib, and my DH and I moved upstairs to our guest room to sleep next to his room for feedings. This was better, but still not great.
At 5.5 months, we put him in his room with the radio on and us in our room. We all three slept through the night from the first night of doing that! My baby was like a new kid! Rested and ready to play and learn the next day, instead of half-coma like me and DH.
This time, I think we will try LO up in her room much sooner, possibly as early as a month, 2 months. We waited way too long!!
I'm not new. I just hate The Bump.
