I just got yelled at by the mail man

Sigh. It is snowing here. I am unable to shovel (Modified bedrest) It started snowing early afternoon and my H isn't home from work yet. So the mail man had a package for us and instead of putting it in our box (It would totally have fit, just fluff mail) he came up our walkway. Well he slipped. While he didn't fall, he almost did. I immediately opened the door and asked if he was alright. My huge pregnant belly was hanging out, clearly visable. He looked at me and said "You should be out here taking care of this, theres no excuse" Holy yikes. And then he muttered to himself how his wife clears the walk pregnant. I mean I feel bad. But dude.

Um sorry he fell but he's a mailman. You have 24 hours to clear your walks and I'm certain it's not the first time he encountered snow during a route.

Of course you should be out there doing all that heavy duty stuff when pregnant! All pregnancies are the same and it's not an illness! Why aren't you shovelling snow and keeping your walkway clear incase the poor wittle mail man gets a booboo on his bumbum? Go take up crossfit while you're at it. No excuse!

Jeez I would have just told him to strap on a pair and get over himself. Sounds like a delightful man if he lets his wife shovel snow while pregnant.

I would contact the Postmaster about his remarks. I don't live too far from you; we don't even have an inch yet, it's been a very fine snow fall since about 11:30-ish. @ABColeSlaw, how much do you have?

And I probably would have called him an ass for making his pregnant wife shovel.

I'm not even on bed rest andmy grandma and mom both yelled at me for shoveling a small part of our driveway. DH didn't tell at me but only because he didn't know I did it since the snow melted by time he got home.

We don't have that much actually. I didn't even think of it until that happened. Like even if I wasn't pregnant though, I'd wait a smidge longer to go out and shovel.

What happened to their motto of "neither rain, nor snow, etc" get some snowboots. Tell him it's not your fault he's an a** and makes his wife shovel. I haven't shoveled and we have about 4 inches so far and if my DH came home from work and saw that I did shovel, he'd have a fit. He hasn't let me touch a snow shovel all winter (I'm sooo upset... lol). Our mailman just doesn't deliver when it's really bad. not sure which is worse...

Not that it snows here (it's 52 degrees and sunny). So I guess it's not really a fair comparison.

I shovel snow all day long and then do cross fit for two hours.

My excuse is I like having 9" of snow on my driveway! It's purty. Not really, I'm sick of the snow but it will be hard getting to the chiro until tomorrow or Wednesday when it's 40° and raining. I'll shovel the snow then.

People around my neighborhood have a bunch of landscapers come and rake leaves and do all kinds of crap for them. So one by one they go door to door and ask if you want your sidewalk shoveled (uh sure if ya wanna do it for free cause I'm not paying someone to!). Every time they ring the damn doorbell and make our dog go insane! I finally yelled at one that if they don't stop coming to my house I'm calling the cops. Apparently the last 2 I said a very stern no to didn't speak english. As SO walks up to the house (from getting off work) and grab the shovel, one asks if he wants help... he said sure if ya wanna do it for free! haha

Fucking annoying... And I'd tell the mailman he's a dick too for above mentioned reasons from PPs.

@ABColeslaw Sorry your mailman is such a jerk. A taxi driver slipped on my driveway a few weeks ago but he at least had the decency to not yell at me about it. I apologized, he didn't yell or sue, and we all lived happily ever after.
