Can I submit a photo of what I look like in the morning AND what I look like in the evening?? Because my evening bloat makes me look at least four months further along than I am.
I didn't realize what a huge difference a few hours makes when picking outfits! Something comfy in the AM is almost unbearable by the afternoon! If only sweatpants were work appropriate....
I am a day shy of 5 weeks and the bloat is terrible !!! My SO was rubbing my belly and I am like " that's not a baby bump, its fat and bloat, thanks..." haha
Baby Gibson is due October 8th! (Bfp: January 29th)

I said the same thing to SO and he said "well, it's in there somewhere!" lol

I am 7 weeks pregnant and I swear I look like I'm three months pregnant! Gotta love the bloating I'm already using the "I'm not fat I'm just pregnant" excuse! Hehe
11 weeks today. And I'm doing this because I'm excited and i want to see body change over the next few weeks. This is the first time I've been able to see any change in my abdomen in the morning before the bloat hits. And sorry, I can't get it to rotate
Edited to add: I completely realize I just look like I ate a few too many cookies. MMMMMMMM cookies.....
Daisy u really need to get off ur high horse. I know a lot of women in their first trimester who post belly shots. The far majority know its impossible that it's baby they are seeing, but still like to show off the changes in their bodies as pregnancy progresses.
However, I believe it's possible for some women to begin showing a bump very late in the first trimester, especially if they've had previous kids/pregnancies.
Everyone should be proud to flaunt their bloat, it's an exciting time.
I am certainly OVER THE MOON with my sweet little gassy BUMP I'm sporting. Every little gurgle of gas bubbling around in there and making my jeans tight reminds me that WE DID IT! We finally made our little nugget! We are both overjoyed and I find myself staring in the mirror with THE BIGGEST GRIN holding my tummy (whether it's flat and morning fresh or bloated and gassy) knowing that there is a miracle growing within. This website was CREATED for the purpose of giving expectant mothers a safe and nurturing space to BE EXCITED with peers - especially in this tender time when we may not feel ready to share the news with our family and friends and other social media. I find it very tasteless that someone would come here to post negative remarks about happy photos posted when we all know there is a LIFE being created behind even the slenderest and most petite of frames. Click away, ladies! BUMP ON! :x
Ur entitled to have a chuckle if u so wish, but don't be putting people down in a thread started for exactly what they're posting. If it were a 'bump or bloat?' thread then yeh say bloat, without adding extra humiliation to already emotional women.

Ha. Yeah, Like I said, I think it's really sweet than so many women are excited by bloat. You're body is a magical vessel! Your womb holds the precious gift of the next generation! By all means, SHOW THE WORLD.
ETA: Seriously, I don't mean to offend. If you want to post bump pictures in the first trimester, by all means do so. I really do think it's nice to be so excited about even the most mundane parts of pregnancy (because seriously ladies. There is a LOT better things to look forward to). But I don't feel out of place saying on a public message board that I chuckle at pictures of you where you don't look even the least bit pregnant. If you're going to be publically posting photos of yourself, you should be willing to take in stride the fact that not everyone is going to 'get' it, or be excited for your gassy belly.
Especially since this is the first trimester board and the title of the thread is SHOW OFF YOUR BUMP. Weird.
After spending two years trying to get pregnant through fertility treatments and such, I will show off bloat or belly. I think you women who are tearing these women down are just down right disrespectful. You don't know what that person went through to get their "bloat." Maybe you should think before speaking or typing.
No, we're talking about the fact that it's ridiculous that you can't leave it alone and let someone be happy about the fact that they're growing a baby, and their bodies are changing. Who cares if it's bloat? It doesn't effect you in any way. Do you just troll the boards to put others down, or?
@courtneyysmiles I love the way you are doing your weekly photos. I never did cool chalkboard signs like that. Heck, I couldn't even remember to take a pic every week.
No, we're not playing 'pain olympics.' I am simply making a point to say stop being a bully, and making fun of people who post pictures of their bloat or belly or whatever. Just be happy for them because you don't know what they went through to get to this point!
I came on this board today because I felt SOOO much joy and excitement and I wanted to share with other women who are in the same boat! After so many fertility failures and finally a positive result, my heart is only sunshine and glitter! But the poster above really needs to rethink her negative, biting, and hurtful attitude. Why come on here and make fun of people when they are so happy? It is like a dark cloud of negativity and I find it gross and out of place. Whatever happened to "if you can't say anything nice..."

I suggest lurking & deciding if these boards are really a good fit for you.
Here's a really interesting link that kind of illustrates the whole "bump vs. bloat" argument. It's a time lapse video of where/how your internal organs move around to make room for your growing baby and uterus. In weeks 4-14ish, your uterus is pushing your intestines out toward your belly button. Combine that with the fact that your digestion slows way down to absorb nutrients for the baby, and you can see how the "bump" that many of us notice in our lower abdomen is really just our intestines. It's not mean to say that, it's just true. It's not until sometime after week 14-16ish that the uterus itself starts pushing out against your abdomen.
I swear, nothing tickles me more than first trimester 'bump' pictures. There's nothing there, people! You're showing off nothing! I truly mean this--I find it really endearing. I think it's kind of sweet that people are so excited that they're 'showing off' their flat stomachs .
I did not see one offensive thing in this post. I thought you were being nice. Not sure where all the butthurt is coming from.
Right? I shudder to think how they handle truly offensive things if they're getting so bent out of shape over this. Relax, yo!
Also, here's my "bump" photo:
Bahahaha! I totally do that in the mirror. Even before I was pregnant. When I wasn't pregnant, I could still get a good 4-5 month pregnant stomach going if I tried hard enough.
