You know you're 6mos pregnant when ...

You really want to take a nap, but realize that would involve having to put your shoes on again post-nap.

It's a struggle, but nap won.

  • Ah, the beauty of living in FL... Flip flops. I don't care if they're good for you or not, I live in them and they have treated me fine so far...

I did get extremely winded in the shower today. It didn't happen until I was washing my face. Really?

  • When you accidentally turn the dishwasher on three time in one weekend with your bump.

The first time it happened the dishes were clean and DRY, so then they got all wet before I could hit "cancel" and I had to dry them by hand :(  Talk about first world pregnancy problems ...

  • This is probably TMI.  My DH shaved my lady bits for me yesterday. :D  I've noticed I'm at 6 months when I drop something, stare at it, and go "Oh well, it's just going to stay there."

When you can't sit up for more than an hour without experiencing rib pain... When you try to reach forward to grab something from the coffee table and it takes multiple tries and/or you just give up or ask hubby to get it... When you realize putting on boots is a sport and you don't shave your legs for extended periods bc it's just too hard to reach... When you notice you can't really maintain your lady bits anymore bc the darn belly is in the way....
All of this. I tried shaving my lady bits yesterday and I just couldn't see, no matter the angle. Did it blind in the end, so I have no idea what it looks like. I don't think DH will care though. I think he'd just be grateful to get a look in at this point.

Won't tell you how many pregnancies I went through before this occurred to me.  It stops working once you get to the point where your arms aren't long enough to reach around the bump anymore (if you have T-rex arms like me), but it gives you a few extra months of accuracy.

Spring cannot come fast enough. Putting on my boots is tiring work.
  • I can't wait for flip flop time!!! I'm sick of struggling to put socks on!! Just getting in an out of my car is exhausting enough for me. I work with children and getting up and down from the floor is the worst thing in the world.. I can't imagine how bad it's going to be next month or even in the next couple of weeks. And now I'm ready for nap!!

I was at the dollar store yesterday, I squatted down to get something on the bottom shelf and I could NOT get back up! I had to literally pull myself back up by holding onto the shelf above me. I almost fell over. Thank god no one was in the same aisle as me, I would have been mortified.
I went to a hardware store with my sister, mom, and niece the other day to pick up supplies for our floors to get done. I bent down to grab something on the very bottom shelf, and then I couldn't get back up and my sister walked away thinking I would be fine, and my mom had to help me up, and my niece was laughing at me. That was fun.

Also yesterday in the shower I came to the realization that I couldn't move my belly any way enough to see my lady bits to make sure that I was shaving well enough, and had to go by touch. I called my hubby in to check, laughing at myself the whole time. And then shaving was so exhausting I just laid down in the tub for a little while with the shower on, and evidently the baby liked it or didn't like it and he started balling up on one side of my belly and then kicking/punching and making my belly jiggle and move, so I just laid there and laughed at that.

I feel your pain with getting up and off the floor. I started sitting in their tiny chairs and its helped a lot! Bending over is still tricky …
  • When you work 1 floor up and you take the elevator. Every. Single. Time.

Last pregnancy I was 8 minths pregnant and was throwing up. I then used the toilet paper roll holder to help me get up and I broke it. I just sat there and cried. DH ran in and asked what happened. I told him I was so big I broke the toilet paper roll and I still can't stand up. (Our bathroom is really small only a toilet and bath tub.)

YES!! This! I swear every time I have to pee it feels like the most important pee ever and like I haven't gone in years and then barely anything comes out.
But then when I sneeze I have to change pants...not fair.

I also am flying blind with shaving...and I am starting to find that everything I wear makes
Me bear a vague resemblance to a hippo from the side. I thought that was going to hold off for a bit- no such luck.

  • Realizing that my belly is now bigger than my boobs.. trying to get up from anywhere and yes trying to shave anything other than my underarms. I actually thought about that as seen on tv product yesterday in the shower that lets you wash your feet without bending down ... I made fun of it .. now I'm thinking what a great idea it was !!

  • bending in the shower to wash my feet takes forever.......I started noticeably waddling at work last week someone asked if i was pregnant lol.....im a little heavier to start with so that covers up my growing belly its not too noticeable yet just by looking at me. but getting off the couch is a task in itself haha

Also a reason Texas is great! Granted it was 70 this morning and 45 now so between the rain and cold the flip flops were probably not enough but I get hot flashes anyway right now so it all evens out :-)
  • When you make your poor husband trim your toenails. Yep that happened last night! I told him it was either that or I'm paying for a pedicure every time they need maintainence.

DH did this for me last time too. I tried and asked him how it looked. When he laughed I handed him the razor. I couldn't stand the thought of possibly having people all up in my business if my business was ridiculous looking.

I did regular pedicures last time. DH suggested it so I could keep my toes looking nice. I opted to get the full blown ones with massages and everything. It was amazing. I recommend it. Milk it for all it's worth!!

When you start laughing out of no where because your baby just did a belly flop in your belly.
Or when your baby is pushing on what feels like your lungs because all of a sudden you are out of breath.
