July 2013 Moms

Name one thing...

You think people don't know about you.

I am a twin (brother) & I have an obsession with equal portions. It drives my husband insane. My brother's partner says the same. Both of them don't understand our need to make sure everyone gets a "fair share".

"Just give us some-- it doesn't have to be perfectly even!"

We still do it. We can't help it.

And go!

  • @Dani428 hugs!

I worry about losing my parents (we are very close) and losing DH (he's 18 years older than me) and being totally alone. That's probably my biggest fear.
  • I am the youngest of the kids that my mom and bio father had together. I don't speak to any of my family and I miss the idea of what family is suppose to be like in movies. :((

Xoxo is there a reason you choose not to speak to your family? If you'd rather not say that is ok. :x

  • Hugs to everyone! :x I really miss my grandma too. She passed away in 2001. She didn't get to see me graduate high school, get married, or have P. When I have dreams about her, my little sister does too. I hate taking naps. I feel like I've wasted too much time, and I always wake up cranky from them.
    You hate naps?!?!  :-O

It is a very long long detailed story filled with abandonment from mom, abuse from bio dad, brother and cousins, distant relationship with raised dad that ended up ending due to it bein too long and too much time gone by. Lots and lots of harsh words and acts towards me and my daughter from my mom. It's a dark and bad family that I don't want my kids exposed to and even though I know I'm doing what's right for my kids an myself, it still hurts because it couldn't have been like those nice families on tv that are caring and there for you when you need them. They don't treat you bad and hurt you but instead love you and listen when you need them to. I hate knowing that DD and DS will grow up and ask about my side of the family and I will not have many good things to say so to them I won't have anything much to say.
  • I've told this story here but it's the best I can come up with: I'm banned from every Whole Foods for the rest of my life.
I'm also an only child and I love it. More attention for meeeee.

How are you banned? Dude, what'd you do? :P

@PrimRoseMama They don't know who I am, so sometimes I still shop there. Don't tell anyone. ETA: It was a leg of lamb. Kids, don't shoplift. [-X
Mmmm leg of lamb! It's alright. I'm no snitch! Snitches get stitches! :P
Prim you have such an urban edge to you that I really thought you were black or biracial (anyone can be urban but you kwim). The snitches get stitches thing is what they say in the area I work in :)

;) no, I just grew up in a very tough area. No joke, gangs & stuff were a big deal until we got to move to a better area for the last two years of HS.

I'm kind of obsessed about making sure my kids aren't exposed to it as much.

Something about me, I moved out of my mom's house when I was 17 into my own place. I've had my own (apartment or house) ever since and never had to move back home. I was a teen pregnant with DS1 and my mom hated seeing me pregnant so living at home drove us nutz.

    Mom is my bf now.

  • I'm an AW so I'm telling more than one.

I taught middle school band and choir for years. I miss it.

    I was born in Nebraska.

When I was a kid i wanted to be a paleontologist or marine biologist.

  • I took an online IQ test and was proud of myself for my score seeing as I didn't even fully finish 9th grade. DH looked at me like I was crazy when I told him my score.... :( so sad. I got 122 on the online one. Oh well... I feel smart having that score. It's above average I think.
  • I spend my days fantasizing about finding my forever job, similar to what they would call a forever home for a pet. The fact that I haven't found it yet drives me nuts.

I've been out of the work force for 2 years, but I wonder if companies are designed for long term stays anymore?

I was published in a college text book for an essay I wrote. I have never tried cigarettes, never will, and never been offered them but have been offered drugs. I didn't drive until I was 18. No reason, I just didn't feel like it. I don't like drinking because it makes me feel awful and I hate it.

That's awesome! I was put in a book about the GED program I went through because it took only 1 1/2 months for me to jump scores, pass tests and graduate. That's amazing that you didn't drugs or smoke. Go you!!

I love to sleep, I miss it terribly. I dream of sleep when I am asleep and then generally I have to wake up. So very sad.

Personal info, I'm very critical of myself.

Me too and when someone does it for me I still take it to heart. I'm still in that victim mindset it feels like. Try not to be too hard on yourself. You are a great mother and you seem like a good person. :)
  • I have a borderline eating disorder. I've never admitted that to anyone and no one has ever noticed either

Mer, you thought of something!  :)

Mer said "I'm very critical of myself".
@mermomo5 this shows because you're so sensitive. :) But we can all be our own worst critic, it's our personal system of check and balance.
