Short Story: My water broke at 5am and at 8:45am our son had made his grand entrance into the world 6 weeks early at 4lbs 3oz and 17 inches long. He's small but he's perfect.
Longer version: DH had been home sick with a fairly high temp most of the week, when I started getting his cough and headache I decided it would be better to work from home Thursday and Friday. Thursday everything was perfectly normal aside my my constant coughing. I didn't sleep very well that night and had a few Braxton Hicks contractions which I attributed to the coughing. At 5 am I woke up to a warm gush and ran to the bathroom to make sure it wasn't blood. As soon as I stood up in the bathroom the rest of my water broke and there really wasn't any doubt as to what to was. I woke up DH (poor guy was still a bit loopy on NyQuil) and we headed straight to the hospital. When we got to labor and delivery they checked and confirmed I'd ruptured my water and I was 100% effaced already but only 1cm dilated. Baby wasn't tolerating the contractions very well and the nurses starting to prepare us mentally for a C-Section. Before they could even move me out of triage I said I had pressure and needed to push. The doctor refused to believe me at first since I'd just been 1cm about 45 min before but when she checked again I was complete and baby was crowning. They said no time for a C-Section or epidural baby is coming now. 3 pushes later and only 3 hours and 45 minutes after my water broke Michael was born at 4lbs 3oz and 17 inches long. He's in the NICU and on CPAP but only with room oxygen so overall he's doing really well. Its not really clear what caused the preterm labor but the best guess right now is whatever bug I had may have caused an infection. Sorry that turned into such a novel!
Thank you guys for all the advice and support I've gotten over the last 7-8 months I don't want to leave but how does it usually work with a baby born early? Do I say with March(a BMB I love) or should I move over to January?

You should absolutely stay here, no reason to start over somewhere else. I won't be having a March baby either.
You better stay here and update us on how he's doing...and you of course!
Wow, what a quick labor experience!! I know your lil bundle arrived early but even still, you always hear about the long, grueling labors. I'm so happy that it was quick for you!
Hoping for a quick nicu stay! Pics please when you get a chance!!!
Little Man arrived 3/28/14 at 10:32pm
9 lb 1 oz & 21 3/4 inches
As for where to hang out now, you'll probably want to intro in January/Febrary as your kiddo will be at the same place as those LOs for some things, but also hang here because premies are usually 'age adjusted' for the first year when it comes to developmental milestones and other things.
*that means, when LO is 5.5 months old (having been outside baby for 5.5 months) they will be 'age adjusted' to 4 months (the age they would be if born on your due date).
Some times age makes a difference.
Congrats and hope recovery is short and sweet for you and that baby Michael has a short nicu stay.
You should stay here with us. There were several other babies born in January that are sticking with us so you will have that support etc...
No reason to not stay here, even if you start posting on Jan/Feb also.
