Everything looking good for this baby! HE was head down, stretched out, and sleepy this afternoon, so the measurements went very quick (not much longer than 10 minutes). The doctor then came in and looked things over. I had been scheduled for a genetic counciling session due to my near-"advanced maternal age," but the screening and all-clear a/s made the doctor suggest it wasn't really necessary. I was very relieved and happy to see the little guy making a few fists.
Had a 22 week appointment today, everything was good and the baby was kicking the doppler as always My fundal height was like 4 weeks ahead. I know it's a pretty archaic method of measurement so I'm not really taking it too seriously...I wonder how they can even standardize that??
@lizardbreath14 yes!! Then she tells me if I really want to know the gender she can do a "fun" one for $50! Um no thanks my insurance already sucks and I have to pay $150 for this one that took 10 min thank you very much.
Wasn't your appointment anatomy scan? At out anatomy scan (which took 45 min), not only did we find out he was a boy, but the measures the kidneys, check for the four chambers of the heart, brain development...everything anatomy related. I'm wondering why they didn't do that at your anatomy scan?
A/S at 1pm PST. I can't wait, but I'm also really nervous!
Update, lady???
Just got home! H and I went to lunch to open our results. The tech made a game for us, lol. He put pictures in one envelope then wrote out the sex in another. H and I opened the pictures and yelled "boy!" When I opened the other the tech had written out "girl". I was so surprised! And then we laughed about what horrible techs we would make. So it's a girl for us!

I didn't have an appointment today. I haven't left my house in over a week. Over a week, people. But it's fine. I feel good about it. I'm not going crazy or dreaming of running away to live in the woods with my friend Mr. Squirrels. I love it inside my tiny apartment. HA HA HA Am I talking loud? I feel like I'm talking really loud. Maybe it's just me. What was I saying? Oh, right. I'm fine.
The scan went great! We are team pink again and we couldn't be happier! My OB said he would review the pictures in more detail and let us know if he sees anything alarming but in his quick overview he thought everything looked great. Plus our ultrasound tech was very reassuring and told us everything she saw looked perfect and healthy! I'll still be a little nervous until the quad scan results come back but I'm less anxious than before. Feeling extremely blessed to have two girls!!

Baby is healthy!! The sonogram lady took 10 min for our whole appt and the baby's legs were crossed and couldn't tell the gender. I wish she would have worked with me a little more and have me move. Irrationally upset that we don't know the gender. How long was everyone's appt? I wish she took a little longer with me.
I'm surprised she only spend 10 minutes for an anatomy scan... they're looking to measure all sorts of things (not just to tell the sex). My scan took about an hour.

Seriously??? That would make me so mad! I'm sorry you didn't get to find out baby's gender. :-(
@nikki0808 yes I know they measure and do more than just the gender so I was really surprised when it lasted 10 min from start to end and that she refused to look any longer for the gender because she "had another appt" how is it my fault you only scheduled 15 min for my sono.
@rileymiller yes it was an a/s scan. My last appt was at 16 weeks and I don't have another until 24 weeks.
We ended up doing an elective sono at a boutique style place (bc there is no way in hell they are getting another $50 from me) and we found out we are having a little GIRL!! What a roller coaster of a day!
Had my appt yesterday. Baby was crossing legs but the tech said she was 90 percent sure she is a girl. They couldn't get good pics of the heart because the baby wasn't positioned right. I have to go back in for another. Doctor also called to say the placenta is low. Praying it moves up before 32 weeks.
Re: Friday Anatomy Scans and Appointments
Now if we could only settle on a name.
