So I just asked DH this: when our DD has children will you care/be uncomfortable if she nurses in front of you. He said no. But the reason I asked was I was not a nursed child as probably a lot of our generation were (or maybe just in my area). I'm a pretty private nurser and honestly dont know if it would make my father feel uncomfortable to see his daughter ( I know he has never said anything about seeing other women nurse in public), it's just never come up because Ive nursed in public a whopping two times!
No daughters obviously, but Mr. Vals supports all women BFing everywhere, covered or not. He doesn't even blink at it. I'm so lucky to have a partner who's so supportive of BFing.
I don't think he would mind. I remember before DD, DH was really 'strict' about what he said he wanted me to do about NIP and around guys even like my BIL. After the first week- and defintely now he doesn't care at all. I told him from the beginning that he needed to just relax about it and he finally did.
My H wouldn't care. And I've nursed, even without a cover, in front of my dad before and he also doesn't care. I do however always wear a cover when my brothers are around because they'd be uncomfortable with seeing their sis nurse without one. Which actually reminds me of a funny story....
When DS was about 10 weeks old we were in Chicago visiting my parents and my little brother came into town too. We had the pack n play set up in a room and rather than stay in the basement my brother decided he'd just stay in the room with DS.
DS started fussing one night and my brother got up and picked him up. I went in and my brother went to the bathroom. I decided it was dark so I'd just plop down on the floor at the foot of the bed and nurse.
Brother walks back in, crouches down and puts his head right by DSs as he was nursing and just stares. I was just like um ok. Then he gets back into bed and hears DS start loudly swallowing and goes, uh, um, oh is he eating?! I'm like, yep. And he got all flustered and was like, I didn't know, I just wanted to see him.
I still like giving him a hard time about being a weirdo for trying to see his sister's boobs.
Funny story just came to mind. There have been two times that I have been sitting beside DHs grandmother and I have been holding LO not in a nursing position at all so if you looked you could clearly see she was not eating and she would say "are you still nursing" and I would say yeah I am and she laughs and says "oh well know wonder she's so quiet right now!" And I laugh and have said both times no I'm not nursing her at the moment but yes she is still breastfed. She 100% doesn'tmean BF babies are quiet she just always thinks I have a boob in her mouth andthats why she's content. I love That woman so much- she is so kind and gentle.
