Retroverted or tilted uterus and ET

I have a tilted uterus , so when they have done IUI or ET it's really hard for my doctor, the last couple times with transfers I have had my cervix dilated and they used so sort of clamp, the day of the mock transfer they put me under and they do all that so when the actual transfer happens it's easier to get the catheter in. Has anyone had issues with transfer or IUI due to a tilted uterus?

    I have a retro uterus but the opening has always been a breeze to access. Sorry I can't help... :(

    Dec. '12 - Donor Egg/Donor Sperm IVF Cycle - 4 good embies!
    Dec. '12 - Fresh transfer, BFP! EDD 8/29/13
    Mar. '13 - Missed m/c at 16w1d, baby boy stopped growing at 15w4d
    Loss due to umbilical cord clot...baby was perfect. :(
    Jul '13 - FET#1 - c/p
    Sept. '13 - FET#2 - BFN
    Dec.' 2, 2013 - FET#3 with our last chance embie - BFP!!!
    Dec' 26, 2013 - hb!!
    EDD 8/20/14 with a baby girl!
    Little S was born on 8/21/14 - 8lb, 14 oz and 20 inches long.
    We live in Seattle and used SRM for our donor egg IVF cycle

    Like 2mamaz, my uterus is very retroverted/tilted but all of my transfers has always been super easy. Maybe it's something other than the angle that is making it difficult. I have heard of what you are talking about though, I thought it was called a stitch or something like that. Good luck!

    9/15/14 - Our first son born thanks to donor eggs at RBA after 7 failed own egg IVF cycles.

    I have a tilted ute too and they don't seem to have any transfer issues.. Just issues finding my left ovary so lots of pressure and digging happens. Maybe you have something else as well!??

    miscarried Sept 24th at 5 weeks 5 days
    Etopic  D&C and hysterscopy Nov 5 2013
    dx with pre genetic blood clotting dec 2013
    FET #2 Jan 31st  2014 
    Miscarried for a second time again at 5 weeks 5 days
    Currently fostering to adopt an amazing little 1 year old boy..P.J!
    FET#3  is Oct 29th 2014
    BFN on fet #3
    Last and FINAL FET coming JAN 28th 2015

    They always have a hard time finding my left ovary as well

    Ok I take back everything I said.... Think I may have jinxed myself!! My transfer yesterday was a nightmare and so scary I wasn't sure they were going to get it done but after 15+ catheters he got my babies in!! Damn tilted uterus I hate you!!

    Lacey my last transfer was a tiny bit tricky but 15 catheters! Poor you!!! I'm glad the babies are able to snuggle un now!

    @bean386 It's really really hard!!! As usual. Tomorrow is 6dp5dt and will be doing my first beta. I know clinic is crazy and has us come in soooo early so if I happen to get a positive it will be very low.

    Yesterday tested 4dp5dt and got stark white test.... today... A possible squinter but it's so so so light I can barley see it so I'm not calling it a positive at this moment. Ugh

    I'm sorry you had a difficult ET.  With my first son, his transfer was horrible.  It was SO painful I thought I was going to pass out.  I cried so much.  I did not enjoy the act at all.  But the good news is that it worked.  He's now 18 months... so good luck to you!

    And, I should add that this time around the transfer was a breeze.  I was expecting it to be painful and horrible like last time.  I even considered being put under... but no.  It was great, no pain... totally normal.  Once again it worked.
