So sorry you are going through this. I read a story about a woman who had to lie in bed with the bed inverted so her feet were in the air for most of her pregnancy so she didn't deliver...but her baby was ok! Hopefully staying horizontal is all it will take to keep lil girl inside and growing. You're in my thoughts and prayers!

I am so sorry to hear that you are in this situation but hopefully they can hold off her arrival for a few more weeks. If not, I want to share that my friend gave birth to her baby at 22w4d who only weighed 15oz and so far she is doing wonderfully. She is still in the NICU (adjusted age is 34w) but she now officially just a "grower/feeder" Modern medicine is a marvel. You are in good hands!
edit to add: Also if your current hospital is not a level III NICU I would ask to transfer.

Actually that's exactly what I have to do... They have my legs raised and I'm not allowed to sit up or stand at all. The nurses are keeping me very comfortable though... I can still feel her kicking so if it's just a situation where I have to stay put, then I'm all for it... Even if I have to spend the next few months on my back is fine... She's my first baby... I don't want to lose her...

No, this hospital doesn't have a preemie unit- but the one in the next town does. They called them when I got here and said that as it is, they would do the same there as they are here. Holding baby in is all that can be done until after 24 weeks, then they'll be able to transfer me and start the next step. The way they see it, this hospital is more "patient friendly" - way more comfortable because it's in a smaller town and everyone knows and cares about each other. They'll try to keep me as comfortable as possible until the baby is big enough to take the shot that will stimulate lung growth.

Does anyone have any experience like this? Maybe a friend or relative that had a similar situation. At this stage all I really want is information... Good or bad... I just want to be prepared for possible/probable outcomes.......

Keeping you and your LO and your family in my prayers. I have a friend who had to be inverted after her water broke at 23w.. She went on to deliver her baby boy at 30w. He's now a happy active 3y/o. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions or just need to talk.

I'm sorry sweets, I have no experience but I will say you could also check in with the preemie boards, I'm sure those mamas have more experience with this. Praying for you all.

Lots of prayers for you! I do know of a girl (not personally but from another baby board) who had her little guy at 24w3d and he is doing great. I hope your little girl stays put and I'm glad they are trying to help get you to 24weeks.

Did they mention an emergency cerclage? I don't know what the cut off is for the cerclage.
