Testing for Downs Syndrome?

Re: Testing for Downs Syndrome?

  • Yes, it tests for downs and some other genetic disoders, some that are incompatible with life. I worked in perinatal so I know what's out there and what it can mean. I need to be prepared I feel.

Has anyone been able to get these new genetic tests covered by insurance?
Let me just state for the record that I haven't had it done yet and have only heard of this company because my doctor sends out to them, BUT the Panorama test is $195 IF you submit your insurance information with the blood. Even if your insurance rejects it, they will only charge you $195. Again, I haven't done it yet but have exchanged e-mails with the company and have this in writing. If all goes well on Tuesday, I'll be having this blood test next week.
Me (31) - PCOS with insulin resistance

4 rounds of Clomid = no response
    IVF # 1 - ET (1 3AA, 4 frosties): 12/22 = BFP
    EDD: 9/9/2014

  • We will be doing screenings. When I had DS1 we did the NT scan, I didn't know about the blood test, I will need to consult my dr for more info.

  • We will be doing the NT screening because its an additionally covered sono and chance to see baby. We did it with DS as well.
