I have one this week....maybe two.
1. I think floral shops are a complete rip off. Why do people want to spend $50 or more on an arrangement that will last a week if they're luck? Just send them that money instead.
2. I think PBS is subpar television and I don't like any of their channels or programs. Especially since my daughter loves their stupid cartoons and sings all their songs.
What in the F??? PBS is magnificent. Fantastic children's shows and Downton + Sherlock are like my favorite shows on TV.
I think UO should be renamed to 'a few people state some mostly neutral opinions and everyone else chimes in with a list of their opinions on opinions'.
I was also thinking this today.
I suck at UOs, I'm pretty sure this one has been said before: I think "baby legs" are weird. Maybe because I have a boy though... Would probably never put them on him. (Got a random promo email for 5 free pairs of baby legs which made me think of this)
I got that email too, not falling for it
Yeah I think it was spam.
It isn't spam.. It isn't the brand name BabyLegs. It is babyleggings.com which is a spinoff of that Mother's Lounge LLC that gives the free carseat covers, slings, nursing covers, etc. just when you pay shipping. The promo is 5 pairs free, but you pay $13 in shipping. Just an FYI
I actually partially wondered if it was the same company as the Seven Slings gig a while back. Makes sense! Just weird cause it came from a weird email with a girl's name, not the company as the sender.

Are you including adult programming, i.e. Downton Abbey?
Married my love 8-25-12
TTC #1 September 2012. BFP 2-2-13. DS born 10-16-13.
TTC #2 in December 2014. BFP 12-31-14. Expecting a September baby!
No idea who David Tennant is. For a million dollars I couldn't tell you. Is this bad??
sigh...I may have a slight obsession. I will pretty much watch anything with him in it. Bonus is that almost everything he is in is fantastic. Watched Broadchurch for that reason and it was great. Also, he is Barty Crouch Jr. in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
No clue who David Tennant is...and I don't care to know.
Mayo, bacon, mushrooms, tuna with potato chips (yum), and pizza with nutella and fruit all sounds amazing #eatallthefoods #ihatemydiet #iamhungryobviously
LOL at numbersMelissanumbers and using a flip phone as a weapon.
Valentine's Day is ridiculous. We never do anything fancy or buy each other fancy shit.
I don't care what people do about going back to work after having a baby. SAHM is not for me...besides the tens of thousands I owe in student loans...it's just not my thing. I am so excited to see Willa at the end of the day, instead of (like I did for 10 weeks) immediately handing her over to the hub as soon as he gets home #imabitch #ihatemybaby #ireallyloveher
FACT: football is the best sport on this planet and other nearby celestial bodies.
My UO: I don't know how you all got a man to marry you if you don't like football! I dated a guy once that didn't like football...we are no longer together. It seems like it would be a difficult relationship if one of you likes football and the other doesn't. Unless your SO doesn't like football either...in that case, you should not be allowed to reproduce #imkidding #maybe

I agree, my family were football addicts. So when I dated a guy who hated football and all sports AT FIRST I was super excited. Until the White Sox were in the World Series. He refused to watch it with me WTF! I realized he was super lame and was never gonna make in the world, as all he was interested in doing was making beats ::sigh::
DH is even a worse addict then my family and I love it. We do vacations to football games, play fantasy football together every year (I always beat him), and we have lots of family time thanks to sports! I'm pretty sure he would never be with a gal who didn't like sports.

I find football boring and my H is obsessed with it. Like, he writes a blog about fantasy football. But I have a lot of hobbies he's not into (or I did before the baby), so when he does football stuff, I do my stuff (knitting, sewing, etc). BUT we are both obsessive over college basketball together, so we bond over that.

My husband is a hockey guy -- Go Wings! -- so, no football in this household. We're geeks, so we're more likely to play a board game than watch a football game. :-B
The Nutella Pizza: change pizza crust to cookie dough/crust and the cheese to fruit and you may have something there.
I don't think all toddler sports are issues of parents living vicariously. Most are non-competitive, Brownian Motion sports anyway. Most sports have competitive and non-competitive leagues. Pick your poison. We have a niece who does the Olympic Development Program and has a full scholarship to college for playing soccer. So, while it doesn't work for everybody, it does work for some.
Hubs does like football, but not obsessive over it. We bond with farming. A nightly supper convo at my house usually sounds like this:
Me: Did 496 finally calve? Hubs: No, but she is damn close. Her back end is loose and she is springing. Me: What's her bag looking like? Hubs: Teets are strutted bad. A real baby raiser.
Spin off of doctor who. I really disliked Matt Smith as the Doctor. He was way to goofy for me and I still haven't watched 85% of the Clara story line.
I'm excited to see how Capaldi makes the doctor his.
@amjoy25 - DH and I are both kind of 'meh' on football. We watch it sometimes, but don't have to. We do enjoy college more than NFL though.
As far as team sports for kids. If my kids want to try something, then we'll put them in it with the stipulation that there is no quitting mid-season. If the next year comes around and they don't want to do it, then they'll move on. I do want them to have something though.
so maybe this is a UO:
I think that kids need to have some kind of activity to keep them busy, especially once they start school. I don't care if it's a sport, music, club, whatever... I just don't want them to come home and sit on the couch. I know a lot of this is also dependent on our parenting, but I think that having an activity not only helps to keep them out of trouble, but is great for social aspects as well.
Football is amazing. I prefer college and DH prefers pro... It was a little rough there in the beginning until he learned to love college football and I learned to tolerate pro
chelseyestelle You have proven me wrong. $50 a month is definitely affordable. Most people I know pay in the $100-150 range per month and I think that is nuts. My flip phone is $35 for calling and texting, but I would pay $50
I pay about $60 a month for my phone through Verizon. We have unlimited data.
I need to get my husband on one of these plans! He pays $120 for limited phone and text and unlimited data
I have my husband's old iPhone 4 (so free) and an AT&T go plan. I pay $60/month for unlimited talk & text & 2G of data.
I watch football with DH. For the most part I know what's going on, but anytime they show a player's rear I like to say, "He must be a tight end." Ha! Cracks me up every time!
@amjoy25 I give a really great blow job. That's how I got my husband to marry me.
I like football but don't watch it or pay attention to it. I will for special games and stuff. I love hockey. But still do not watch it all the time. My husband is obsessed with all sports. ESPN is on our television 24/7.
I don't like girls who pretend to like sport to be "the cool girl." Not saying you Amjoy but they are out there.
I have grown to like football bc DH LOVES it. Like loves it so much he'll be like "remember the time (6 yrs ago) we went to chilis on the way back from the casino (random Sunday activity) and the Colts were playing Green Bay and the score was 28-10 and Peyton threw the game winning touch down blah blah blah." I'm like "I remember chilis, not who was playing or the score or that TD. Chilis has good queso tho."
I prefer when it is one of our teams playing or a game that matters though and I'm usually sewing or crafting so not 100% paying attention (well at least pre-baby I was).
@vvg28 that's right we are fellow ranching wives. Well we live in town IL's live on the ranch, but DH pretty much lives there during calving!
Yes we are! DH has been out late nightly checking on cows calving during this damn polar vortex. LO and I have hardly seen him this past month. We aren't used to battling cold weather like this.
So, I am totally feeling like a single mama right now, but someone has to save those little calves! @Amjoy25 - added the footballs to make nice with you.

That is my DH to a "T ". He even knows about games he wasn't alive to see yet.... I tell him if he would put the same effort that he puts into sports. He could be a doctor or a lawyer, but he just wants to be a football coach....lol Hopefully we have a son so he can knock that off his bucket list. (I don't think girls are allowed on the teams around here) #imnotsexist #iswear
I have no idea what I pay for my phone, my h pays the bills and I only pretend to listen (confession, not a UO) we pay somewhere around 130 for 3 phones, only 2 have data, but it's not unlimited. I would die without my iPhone.
I'm normally meh about football, Super Bowl, sports in general, but I love my city so much I can't help but to be proud and excited this time around.
I don't want a gift on valentines day, but I want some romantic gesture. I dislike birthday and Christmas gifts, though.
Having male friendships is fine if everyone knows the boundaries.
@lucygoose8710 re: Craigslist, I have a friend who was robbed at gunpoint, tied to chairs, while their baby slept upstairs and the guys were going through their house. The next day, the same "team" killed someone. Craigslist terrifies the fvck outta me.
I haven't read ahead to see if anyone asked this, but why int he world did she have them meet at her house? Wtf?? We sold a matress on CL and met in the parking lot of a grocery store. Lots of people around.
I dislike football, always have and I even played in the annual powderpuff game in high school, all 4 years. #lovedbeingtaughtbythosefootballboys My H likes football, played it in high school. He only watches the Super Bowl and his Buckeye games #buckeyesareafamilything It is a compromise he did on his own when he realized I'd never join him in that passion.
I only liked Nutella during pregnancy. Not sure about the craze for Papa Murpheys. Love mushrooms and olives. Adore my iPhone. Don't have a problem with opposite sex friendships as long as there is honesty.
I think television programming, today, is very family unfriendly and reflects lack of values in our society. #imissmy80sand90sshows

I love Papa Murphy's pizza, but it is annoying to bake at home. But pizza is still good. Plus breadsticks and cookie dough.
My husband and I mostly watch college football, but have actually paid attention since the Seahawks have done amazing this year and are stoked about the Super Bowl. We mostly watch basketball since there are a bazillion games. We like the same teams, but I didn't bother watching games before unless they were already on, but I did like to know when we won/lost.
Andplusalso, we're both nerds. Star Wars for me, mtg for him.
Another unpopular opinion...I didn't mind the first three star wars movies (numerical first three). Original three were better, but I loved the newer special effects. Hayden Christensen fucking sucks, though. Like almost to Robert Pattinson levels.
I used to cheer for football and I was all :-? I still really don't get it and I think it takes way to long. 2 minutes takes 30 minutes.. I'd rather watch paint dry..
Oooh I thought of one! I hate when people put their kids in organized sports when they are toddlers. I feel like they are living vicariously through their children by prepping them for organized sports in school. Let the damn kids play. I have a friend who is posting their 3 year old running track races and posting the kids time. Not shockingly they are coaches and phys ed teachers.
We aren't putting DD1 in track, but we live down the block from the soccer fields and she has always asked to play soccer and the age starts at 4 so we promised to sign her up now that she is four. She is really looking forward to playing soccer. We won't push her to do it if she decides she doesn't like it, but we will make sure she gives a try since she says she wants to.
Stemming from this I don't like the idea of 'no one loses' in younger kids sports, were everyone gets a trophy or even some places not even keeping score. I think having a losing side is actually a good lesson for kids. Kids need to learn at an early age that they cannot win at everything. DD1 is already a decent loser at board games. She loves when she wins and gets excited and does get upset when she loses but she understands that's part of playing a game.(well except tic tac toe, she always wants to play but still doesn't understand the concept so she think she wins all the time, we are still trying to teach her those rules.)
I watch football with DH. For the most part I know what's going on, but anytime they show a player's rear I like to say, "He must be a tight end." Ha! Cracks me up every time!
Maybe not all of them but several women at work are doing one where you have to drink these weird powdery iced teas and take weird supplements and I just think it's stupid.
Hubs and I love to watch sports, but I have to admit that we're not huge football fans. We watch and enjoy, but we really don't like the NFL...just college!
And as far as PBS, I like PBS with the exception of Caillou.
