My UO is that HDBD pics should start having the chicks show their faces. What are you worried about? Paparazzi? Stalkers? You are showing your baby bump, not your vag.
Geesh. If you want your voice heard, at least have the faux kahones to show your face.
Last time I posted a picture on TB, it was one of my favorite wedding pictures, and some nutjob on my old BMB who didn't like me took the pic, reposted it on TN making fun of me, and then got a whole bunch of her nutjob friends to repost it a zillion times on my BMB mocking me and talking about how ugly I was. Every time I see that wedding picture now, I think of that.
So yeah, that's why I stopped posting pictures of myself on here.
I hate those bumper stickers that have the stick figure family members, and people keep adding on to them as they have more kids or a dog. Nobody gives a shit about how many cats/dogs/kids you have. I also hate those stupid "baby on board!" signs people post in their back windows. Oh! You have a baby in the car?? I will target a different vehicle with my reckless driving! Thank GOD you had that sign up.
I will absolutely agree with you on the figure family stickers. I think's it a total safety hazard as well. I mean i can look at some peoples car and know that you have a husband (or wife), 2 boys that play soccer and a princess loving daughter all who go to insert school here and have a Yorkie. I now have everything i need to convince your kid i know your parents and pull off a kidnapping.
Yea i know, paranoia table for 1. But still, better safe then sorry.
As far as the baby on board stickers, i used to have that opinion. Then my co-worker offered a different perspective. They can be for safety reasons. If you see a crash, and see that sticker you are going to double check the back seat to look for a child, potentially saving them. Or if they drive off into a river, seeing that sticker and knowing that information a head of time can be helpful, especially if the driver is dead or unconscious.
I guess that a lot of people would automatically check they car for other passengers. But some wouldn't.
Of course that information could come back to bite you in the ass like with the family stickers, but again better safe then sorry.
1. @jensavicci wins parenting. That story was awesome.
2. I also hate the AW stick figure pictures. Although I used to have a, "My sister is in the Air Force" sticker on my car. I was proud of her and wanted to let it be known whether anyone cared or not.
3. I'm not showing my face on here and I don't care who doesn't like it.
I'm way late but I was actually out having a life this morning gosh.
Anyway.
Chocolate and mint is amazing. You're broken if you don't like it.
Employers should not be able to dictate whether they will pay to provide birth control. I also never understood how people do not comprehend that in order to prevent unwanted pregnancies, you need to provide cheap and easy access to birth control as well as quality sex education. No, people are not going to only have sex for the sake of procreation. It wasn't that way 100 years ago and it's definitely not that way now. Get over it and let's work together on this, people.
I'm also tired of people using the Bible as a reason against gay marriage. Kirk Cameron, if you think that gay marriage at the Grammy's is an "assault" on your "traditional marriage", then I guess your "traditional marriage" isn't so wonderful after all.
And finally, to the 1D haters, look what you've done to Harry with your vitriol

What the what? That's insane! I'm sorry you had to go through with that. What a bunch of bitches and I am embarassed to share my home state with them.
Is marriage equality really a UO with women in our generation? I feel like we're all just stating the obvious.
I don't think it's a problem on this bmb but its amazing how many negative comments LGBTQ ppl receive on a daily basis for living the lives that we do. And from all different ages. There are websites all over exploiting stuff like this book just to hurt us. It's definitely unpopular.

Its not really the people on the board that are familiar that I worry about. Its who I don't know about. I've complained about work, DH, family, etc and I wouldn't want someone I actually know finding my posts and reading them. Also, our board is fairly new and we don't know each other that well. There might be some totally crazy nutbags lurking. I'm just not ready to give up being anonymous yet. Also, I'm not comfortable posting pics of DS or future baby on the public internet, so that's probably never going to happen either.

Oh, TN = The nest, not Tennessee
Anyway, it's not a huge deal, but it did make me think twice about sharing personal stuff on the internet as much. There are a lot of unstable people here.

It's obvious to most, but I am here to tell you I know LOTS of women who tout the "hate the sin, not the sinner" line and firmly disagree with marriage equality.
One time a few of my friends and I attended a drag pageant and when I posted about how fun it was on Facebook I had at least two people tell me they were worried about me.
I'd also like it noted I do not agree with these women.

For me it doesn't have anything to do with faux kahones. I had my personal Facebook page hacked, personal info stolen and a new page created. Somehow, my credit was also compromised. Mind you my page is private, and only those I'm friends with have access..
I have no problem sharing personal experiences and opinions, but not showing my face is the only way I keep myself a little protected on here. I'm really not interested in going through that hell again.
Speaking of bumper stickers, I saw a Mercedes with one the other day. If you drive a Mercedes, or any luxury vehicle, it should be illegal to put bumper stickers on your car. I mean come on...
We have one through a lease program because my husband works for Mercedes. We change vehicles every 6-8 months so I want to put something on it to say it's mine, even for a short time. But I'm with you, I have a hard time putting any stickers on it. Maybe I could find a clever magnet.
Okay @literachick but once you see my face in the HDBD you can't unsee it. You've been warned!
My UO: Ron Paul is a genius. We are straying way too far from our constitution and if we aren't careful we will find ourselves with a dictator. Sorrynotsorry I don't like when the POTUS says he will move forward without congress. That's a habit we were designed to avoid. FTR I love our country so no I will not move to another country if I'm unhappy.

Yeah right, you can come start doing my makeup on Wednesdays at the crack of dawn when I take that photo then.
How can someone not believe in something that exists? Saying "I don't agree with it" is very different than saying "I don't believe in it". That's kind of like saying, "I don't believe in the sun." although it clearly exists.
This may be off your topic but my coworker is kind of like this. If he hasn't heard of it or seen it, then he doesn't believe anyone else has. It ticks me off. "Well I've never heard of that band/TV show/famous person." Oh okay then...because you haven't then it doesn't exist. *eyeroll*
My MIL is one of those who doesn't "believe" in things because she's never experienced it. Case in point, I'm severely allergic to peanuts. Since she has no food allergies, she doesn't believe they exist at all and people are just being picky. DH is lactose intolerant, and she still gave him milk every day because "it's good for you." Every year she sends me peanut butter cookies around my birthday, and every year gets offended I don't eat them. Well, just because you don't "believe" in something, doesn't mean it's true. I can't believe the amount of stupid people who reproduce, but there they are. Her magic peanut butter cookies won't suddenly NOT kill me.
People who are deliberately obtuse work my nerves.

1. I read some of these posts and swear it's a 12 year old girl posting with some of the shit that gets said.
2. Our friend just came out to DH. DH said "cool. Want another beer?" Then our friend told us that he's partied with Channing Tatum and that he is a total "queenie" (is that a word?). I was less than surprised when I heard that.
3. Speaking of gay-marriage, why is this still a thing? Who gives a shit. If I wasn't a supporter of it I still wouldn't give a shit because it's not my fucking business.

My DH isn't super comfortable with putting any of our kids pictures openly on the internet so i probably won't post any of them either.
Since i showed at least part of my face in my HDBD pic i am obviously less concerned with me on the interwebz.
I think the whole "mustache" fad/trend/whatever you want to call it is played out and unfunny. I want to vom everytime I see those stupid sticks with mustaches on them and people holding them up making duck faces. Someone bought us one of those mustache pacifiers for DS and I threw it out.
Chocolate and mint is amazing. You're broken if you don't like it.
I do like chocolate and mint confections where the mint is a delcious creamy filling in the chocolate (Ovations, After 8s, York peppermint patties) but not mint flavoured chocolate, mint chocolate chip ice cream or the hard candies that are mint & chocolate flavoured. Wierd?

But they are so awesome when they break up and cross off a spouse...(I've never seen this in real life, only on People of Walmart)
My mom, in her infinite wisdom, told me that the only reason I had decided to like women as well was because I couldn't attract men so I was forced to "go that way". So yeah, there's definitely some weird views on bisexuality out there.
Well how kind of her. I know she's your mom so I'll just say, "What a peach."
I think my UO must be that I'm actually a little surprised by how much personal info some people post on the bump. I'm also admittedly super wary of my privacy on the internet so sorry not sorry, but I won't be posting my photo, my child's photo, or their names. I'm not self-important enough to think that anyone actually gives a shit or is actively ~stalking my whereabouts~ but I've also seen enough crazy shit on the web to know that weirdos exist in every corner, even public pregnancy boards.
On my last BMB we all actively posted/got to know one another for 18 months before anyone made mention of starting a FB group and even then I was wary of sharing my details (though I eventually joined and I'm glad I did - it's a bad-ass community of ladies). Maybe I'm uncool, but I believe in triple-thinking before you post. THE INTERNET NEVER FORGETS.

Hmmm you and @Iris427 bring up valid points. I didn't think of it like that. I really hate to think women are still making fun of each others looks.
For what it's worth, I apologize and I respect your decision to stay hidden.
CAN WE HUG IT OUT?
Of course we can hug it out!!
I'm not ashamed of my looks at all. I think I'm pretty hot actually! Everybody else is too. It's really shitty if people are looking at HDBD pictures to make fun of people.
My 61 year old mom walked 4 miles to get to safety on Tuesday. It took my stepdad 7 hours to drive 20 miles. My FIL has spent the last 2 nights sleeping at work. A friend slept in a hotel lobby. It sucked and I would like to throat punch the laughing northerners.
OMG, are they all okay?! I am so sorry they went through all that. So many people have been affected by this weather. I'm unsure where he got his info but a coworker said look for more snow next week. I haven't heard the news yet though. I did see where someone (can't remember who) Tweeted something like this - Hey Northerners, 2 inches of snow is very rare for us. Kind of like BCS games are for you.
I'll give you the hard candies but I'm having a tough time with the mint chocolate chip ice cream hate, to be honest.
What's your take on Thin Mints?
Wellllll... I've never had one <hangs head in shame>. We don't get all the fancy girl guide cookies up here in Canada.
TBH if it was chocolate ice cream with mint chips I'd probably like it. I guess my issue with mint chocolate chip ice cream the chocolate to mint ratio is backwards.
ETA: And just to make @SarahVol131 jealous I'm currently polishing off a Coffee Crisp while sitting at my desk. :-*

I hate when people say this.

I guess my UO is that my info is out there on the internet and I am ok with that. I get my work through the internet and if I try to hide info I don't get work since then I look sketchy. I am careful and use common sense.
As far as my kids, I wasn't really planning on posting pictures of them and I do keep photos of DD to a minimum, most of them are in a private album on flickr for family. I like having one here though and I usually keep one more recent on on FB for others to see.
There's nothing wrong with that. I think everyone has their personal comfort zone with sharing on the internet, and that's cool.
And don't get me wrong, I will totally post pics of my new baby once it arrives. Shameless AWing trumps privacy concerns!

Whoever thought of freezing Thin Mints has got to be one of the smartest individuals of all time.
UO: It drives me crazy when people get angry with the Supreme Court for one of their decisions without actually reading the opinion and understanding what the case was about.
For example, the people who got angry and said that the Supreme Court should have made gay marriage legal in all states when ruling in the Windsor case. They clearly don't understand what the case was about and what issues were at stake. They didn't read the opinion and don't understand what powers the Court has. The Supreme Court justices couldn't rule that gay marriage should be legal in all 50 states, because that wasn't a choice in front of them that they were allowed to make in this particular case.
I am a huge proponent of gay marriage and I believe it should be 100% legal, everywhere. I am proud to be from Iowa, one of the first states to make gay marriage legal! My UO isn't trying to discuss gay marriage. I truly hope that there is NOTHING to discuss, SOON. I want everyone to have the same rights, period. My UO is really just about citizens educating themselves. I think it is GREAT that people want to fight for gay marriage. But these people could be attending rallies, talking to their congressional representatives, VOTING, and doing all sorts of other positive things instead of bitching about the justices without understanding what the scope of that particular case was.
I guess that was a long-winded way of saying I wish more citizens were educated about the law making process and do something about it rather than passively sit back and complain without really understanding the issues.
I don't understand why some people get so butt hurt if the baby was not cooperating at the A/S in order for them to find out the sex. I mean, most of our parents and generations before did not have this opportunity, so why does it matter so much now?
With that said, if I get the chance, I do want to know what we are having as I feel like it will help DD bond with the baby before birth. However, if it doesn't happen, so be it.
I also hate those stupid "baby on board!" signs people post in their back windows. Oh! You have a baby in the car?? I will target a different vehicle with my reckless driving! Thank GOD you had that sign up.
UO: This might not be to unpopular, but, while I understand that someone is trying to be helpful when they give out random unasked for advice, it's still annoying as hell to be cornered somewhere and lectured to by someone. It's even more annoying when the person doling out said unasked for advice then proceeds to get butthurt when you don't act like they just gifted you ambrosia, and made you a god. Good lord, relax. If people didn't ask for your opinion (And I'm not talking about on a forum, you post your opening yourself up for opinions, I'm talking about irl), you should probably assume it's not wanted in the first place.

I really doubt on a board full of pregnant ladies that this will be an UO @RainingSunshine, more like an overwhelmingly agreed upon opinion!
